((It is now the Seventh Age, and Daerundros has faded and becoming a lingerer (eg. a wandering spirit who has consumed it's host's body). Her spirit climbs the highest mountain on Middle-earth, where the sea and some part of Aman can be seen, and she will sing this Lament until the Second Music. The Lament will never be heard by mortal men, because they cannot see or hear the spirits of the faded Elves. However, I can imagine that the wind will carry this voice over to as far as Yaquir, where the Kinn-lai Avari spirits have become the very essence of the trees, and they shall be reminded of the days of their old Glory.))
Lament of Ages Lost
When the days were young, and all was hale,
The great deeds were done, and none was shale,
Great Eldar's might, of rock and stone,
cleansed the blight, and the pure light shone.
Oh the days of old! Hearken my great call!
Elves were bold, trees stood tall,
blessed glories, and joys and sorrow,
Worthy of a thousand stories, no longer existing in this tomorrow...
Days of old, you shall ever live,
Thou hast not died, in vain!
The long long bridge;
that tells your tale,
Shall never end,
For it is immortal!
And when the days were young, one would sing:
A Elbereth, Gilthoniel!
And for our love of the stars,
Queen Varda, o Queen Varda,
Enlighten our days of old,
For in each star, remains a glimmer of days past,
A Elbereth, Gilthoniel!
We shall ever sing, of your praise,
this lamenting of our ways,
That even mortal men, cannot hear,
And we, Children of Ilúvatar, will hold memory dear.
Days of old, you shall ever live,
Thou hast not died, in vain!
The long long bridge;
that tells your tale,
Shall never end,
For it is immortal!
By the sea, that I see upon this mountain,
and by the top, of this high high mountain,
I see the sea, and I see Valinor,
OValinor!
O fair Valinor!
How I shall ever gaze towards the Heavens,
The stars shine bright, and the moon is high,
Shining over the broken road!
Days of old, you shall ever live,
Thou hast not died, in vain!
The long long bridge;
that tells your tale,
Shall never end,
For it is immortal!
How I shall ever gaze towards the Heavens,
The stars shine bright, and the moon is high...
