[11.5.2008]
After weeks of absence, a familiar figure approached the Farmer and
the Patron in the Prancing Pony.
[...]
Lindeman: [...] "Rivendell is a haven of peace, but beyond it lie the Misty Mountains [...]
with peaks are so high that Weathertop [...] is but a mole-hill in comparison.
[...] with hostile creatures more powerful than anything in Bree-land. [...]
there are giants [...] Huge man-like creatures. They can hurl stones the size of that table over there [...]
the earth shakes."
"The giants are restless [...]
In the hostile land I climbed the slopes [...] We rode through snow and blizzard.
[...] me and Jeric are [..] going to gather allies and return to search for answers."
[...]
Elf-lord smiled, listening to the news: "So, they have returned? Very well, we shall aid their efforts. Send message to Belgrandir, he is to provide assistance."
[18.5.2008]
Hearing the news, Lindeman said:
"A scout from the House of Aranohtar is the best aid I can think of.
Belgrandir has keen eyes. Yet with only three of us,
this may prove to be a bitter engagament. We must be wary."
His thoughts drifted.
"The Misty Mountains cold, the Misty Mountains grim...
Where the wind comes shrill among the rocks...
Our cause shall lead far from the lands of respectable people,
to great tall mountains with lonely peaks and valleys where no king rules"
[20.5.2008]
He started to prepare for the long journey.
[27.5.2008]
The old search had completed, and new begun.
Lindeman still remembered how the giants had chased the Mirkwood elf around the mountain,
and thrown Jeric into a ravine. It may have been a miracle that they all had survived,
especially after having reached The Place Where Giants Gather.
Nothing less than a raging battle that had been!
But Irunduil, Belgrandir, Huff the Hobbit, Jeric and Lindeman had prevailed,
with the help of that other group of adventurers.
[28.5.2008]
Back in Rivendell, Lindeman thought about what fate had just come to
the party of six in the Misty Mountains.
Despite having accomplished many deeds and endured many terrible sights,
their final quest could not be fulfilled.
But had they really failed?
In the end, can magic command that which the Earth holds?
Are not all things that rise from the ground destined to fall back to it again?
What unnatural powers flowed from that ceremony that fateful night,
must have been greatly disrupted when the the fellowship crashed in.
[15.6.2008]
Lindeman and Jeric sat in the Hall of Fire all night,
discussing the many things they had seen and heard in their travels,
including creatures that devour themselves in desperate hunger.
They also decided to assemble a new fellowship and seek to defeat
that which still crept the steps and floor of the mountain halls.
[26.6.2008]
"The Dale-men fought at the front while Nevros played his sweet tunes.
We grabbed the creature by its lapels - if that can be said - and dragged it
into the light! What is left of it now lies there and shall bother these lands no more."
For Lindeman, a night never to be forgotten. For the audience,
just another story of implausible heroic deeds.
