I trust this letter finds you in good stead, which for a fellow Dwarf should be a heavy coin purse and light of spirit. Regarding... the small administrative matter of my overdue membership fees to the guild, I must report a most grievous misfortune!
Doubtless, you have heard of the missing post around Bree-town? Something which dear Samfer ardently protests is no reflection upon his fledgling postal operations! Well, it... seems my payment of guild membership fees was among those errant letters that are floating about undelivered and now missing! Eh yes, that's it!
I saw one myself, in fact, skewered right upon the boar's very tail at the market square fountain! Some trick has been played here I fear, and many important matters have no doubt been impacted by whoever has seen fit to steal or otherwise play games with the post!! Unfortunately, that one affixed to the boar's tail not my very real letter, though I do now possess an invitation to Lord and Lady Renwick's candlelight dinner forlater in the month!
Uh, so it would appear a tragic end to such hard-earned coin... but, eh if I might beg your leave for an extension on said fees, then I shall duly settle all debts in full next month...
... once my latest supply of priceless relics find a willing buyer that is.
