An Unlikely Champion, Part 3, Interlude 2

Winter Solstice
- Eimear Quinn

Shortest day, longest night
Druids moon, bleak winter’s light
Far on the path to Heaven’s deep
The sun doth rest in winter sleep

Draw to the hearth, kindle the lamp
Hold back the dark, the cold, the damp
High tonight the wind will blow
Season of storm and swirling snow

But we will walk the winter wood
Underneath the winter moon
See silver winter apples, winter berries, winter bloom
We will hear the winter wren
Sing out his winter tune
Winter Solstice, winter wonder
You never, ever come around too soon

To the fields and valleys low
From mountain side the cattle go
A shelter from the winter wild
A stable for the winter child

And we will walk the winter wood
Underneath the winter moon
See silver winter apples, winter berries, winter bloom
We will hear the winter wren
Sing out his winter tune
Winter Solstice, winter wonder
You never, ever come around too soon
You never, ever come around too soon
