Company of the East Road - quest in Lone Lands, part 4

<--- previous

The party said goodbye to the dwarf sentry Wittkun. Tarnon, Salandril and Raspberrien were thinking about next steps, when finally Imeviel returned from the Bree archives and joined their camp. There was not much in the ancient records about the strange weapons, only slight hints that they are of orkish origin.

There was another matter to solve before set off to the south: the hidden weapon shipment at Weathertop. The group left horses in a small grove on the road near Forsaken Inn and went as inconspicuously as possible forward. There were several crebain and also an orc spying around the orc camp the party needed to pass, luckily they all were silenced just before they could warn anybody.

Finally Imeviel, Ceanwulf, Salandril and Tarnon arrived to the bundles hidden in a gorge at the foot of Weathertop. To set a fire with firelock and tinder would be too slow, so Imeviel helped with her ability to create strong flames. As there was also a lot of firewood in the heaps, the fire was huge and quick. The party left quickly, not to be confronted with any incoming threat from nearby orc camp. However, they rather chose different way downhill. It was significantly steeper but their chance of being caught was nearing zero now.
On their way back to the horses they killed another few stray orcs. It kinda drew a bloody path, but it was much safer to let the vermin warn others from their filthy kin.

The party found their horses and went to the Forsaken inn to water their throats and refresh with warm food. There they met Mr. Goodbottom also from The East Road Company, who was waiting there.

They discussed over the current situation and agreed on some preparations which need to be done before travelling to Swanfleet.
