As the tradition has it, we have specialities from many Elven areas; Lindon, Lothlórien and of course only the best local treats from Imladris. The food is cooked by Telpenaro of Nargothrond, a passionate farmer and a chef.
Guests will find a selection of food on the tables, free for them to take.
Welcome Cup
⚜ Mulled wine of the North: Made with red wine, blackcurrant juice, cinnamon, anise, clove, ginger and orange zest. Sprinkled with almonds and raisins.
Appetizers
⚜ Bread, spreads and cheese: Fresh, still warm selection of bread from the oven. Butter, herbed sour cream, paté, thin cuts of venison and cheese for topping choices.
⚜ Salmon sandwich pastries: Small round cakes, layered with smoked salmon and sour cream. Garnished with fresh cucumber, dill and bright salmon caviar.
⚜ Oysters of Lindon: Oysters imported from the divers of Lindon, brought alive to Rivendell with a great care.
⚜ Chicken pin wheels: Chicken wrapped in flatbread, along with cream cheese, crispy lettuce, flavourful cheese and basil.
⚜ Sausage: Choice cuts of meat prepared into flavourful sausages according to the recipe of Hír Daegond.
⚜ Soup: A creamy wild mushroom soup with chanterelle, arched wood wax and sweet tooth, seasoned with onion and thyme.
Main Course
⚜ Meat: Slow roasted and ale marinated boar tenderloin with onion, coriander and pepper. Braised venison ribs with celery, mushrooms and tomato.
⚜ Fish: Grilled white grouper with lemon, butter and scallions.
⚜ Shellfish: Breaded scallops and shrimps, with a mayonnaise based dip.
⚜ Poultry: Roast grouse with a fruity sauce made of red wine, cassis and juniper berries.
⚜ Garden vegetable stir fry: Parsnip, baby corn, sun dried tomato and sugar peas fried as crispy, served on a bed of aromatic rice.
Side Dishes
⚜ Salad: Fresh salad with fennel, tangerines and olives.
⚜ Vinaigrette sauce: With oil, vinegar, salt and pink pepper.
⚜ Roasted hazelnuts: With sea salt and honey.
⚜ Fruit: Selection of fresh fruit from Telpenaro's greenhouse, including melon wedges.
⚜ Aromatic vegetable casseroles: Smooth carrot casserole with cream and rice, another one made of caramelized potato. Both are spiced with nutmeg.
Drinks
⚜ Wine: From Limael's and Dorwinion vinyards, as well as the Fanyamar Estate.
⚜ Ale: A selection of ales from the Shire and Thorin's Hall.
Dessert
⚜ Forest shadow cookies: Warm cookies fresh from the oven, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, dotted with cherries and chocolate chips.
⚜ Frosty rose petals: Sweet rose petals gently brushed with egg white and covered with fine sugar.
⚜ Giant cake: Alquawingë
This giant circular cake is made of flaky layers of buttery puff pastry and fruity pastry cream, tasting like blueberry and lemon. It appears that a swan shaped cookie has landed on the milky marbled glaze, causing quite a splash. In Tengwar it reads the number "15".
