Feather on the Wind – Part 13: A Letter to Naneth – Last Part

Aunt Lume won the race.

During the late watches, a detachment of marines from the Cape arrived. With their help, the wreckage was cleared from the dock, then they examined the bodies with Aunt Lume, Teahesto, and Ada before burning them. Some of the marines are going to stay to help guard the island, at least for a while.

My primary question has been answered. I was hoping to see Ada in the world of Men far from his homeland, to see how a good fellow like him could have remained so after spending his youth wandering amongst them, considering how despicably you have written of them.

It is no surprise to see that those who live in this shining kingdom of Gondor, whether they be favored, ferrymen, or fisherfolk, are still just people. They are who they are, Ada is who he is, and I imagine that’s true for everyone. Perhaps any of us could find ourselves choosing to be pirates, although I hope few do.

Write when convenient.
