Chronicle Summary
From time to time most men of the mark are called to fulfill their oaths, to protect their families and land in the service of the king.
Chronicle Content
There has always been tension between the people of the mark and Dunland that need to be addressed. The commitment to keep watch on the borders towards Dunland, is a never ending task for the riders of Rohan.
But even more important is the forays sent into Dunland. A dangerous task done by scouts, to watch over the dunlendings in their own land and bring tidings back to Rohan. Many are the men and women who never return, never to be heard from again. Their songs and tales are silent. This is Duncadda’s own recollection regarding his duty and oaths as a scout for the rohirrim.
