I summoned Zavas and Cedwyn at The Thirsty Boar to talk about the investigation and the letter I received. We have to go through everything that we found at the sites and see if there is any evidence of a second person involved in this matter aside Alia Brightblossom. I called those two because in a way they were the main investigators, Cedwyn has been to all of the sites and Zavas' presence was only second to hers, he also showed a lot of zeal regarding the case and its resolution. It turned out that the bride's mother and esteemed merchant in Bree, Alia Brightblossom, was behind the sabotaging of the wedding in an attempt to bring back an old lover. We stopped her. On her person we found a stone, very similar to one that the other members of the Company have found before. According to these textbooks it can bring back the dead.

Zavas is one tough Dwarf and his determination drives him onwards, yet, he he keeps a cool and skeptical head. Despite his determination that might be mistaken as stubborness he is also sensitive, he always keeps his daughter in his mind or mentions her with every opportunity. His chief goal is to find that good-for-nothing Freyntar to uphold some the promise of marriage to her, but this whole ordeal drew him in. He is an admirable Dwarf.

Cedwyn seems to be doing fine. Some weeks ago she was shaken after killing that woman, Alia and shooting me in the mist. It is hard to kill someone and it is harder to wound someone you care about, physically or emotionally. Cedwyn did the former. She couldn't see in that mist and while trying to protect me he shot me. But I am fine. We discussed it and she understood. What weighs on her is that she has killed someone and that she has acted a little bit recklessly. I know what she means, that's how I always am. But now we have a family and we have to be more careful. I will do my best to help her through this. It's my duty for caring about her after all. All will go well.
Time to go to the Boar, let's see what we might find out.

Here we go again. Another enemy, an unknown one, as always. It started like a troublesome wedding preparations and it ended up chasing a being who seems to be able to read minds. That's what we made of the diary pages at least. It turned out to be a woman who wanted to bring an old loved one back and now it turned out that there was someone who helped her do such a thing. Of course, a simple Breelander couldn't have such powers or even so much evil in her, to experiment with poor folk until she perfected the resurrection spell. Some woman helped her.

According to the diary that woman somehow read her mind and offered to help her for a price, though the price isn't mentioned. I think that I owe her now because I have the stone and her letter was addressed to me. We found the symbol of the eye on the textbooks next to possible instructions for resurrection spells and the diary gave us some insight to the whole case. Now Zavas and Cedwyn will go to Ered Luin to do a research to see if Mornenion's library has any information about that symbol. The Elf sent me a letter some weeks ago telling me that any member of the Company may access it. The time has come to use it. I will find one or two more to send along too to make sure they are safe.

Ered Luin is where Zavas might see his kinsmen and even his family and Cedwyn might be benefited by changing scenery. After this we'll go on a small holiday. We said it two times more and well still here. Let's see this time!
