Third Age Diary: The Return

If I had not decided before, then surely fate has now. I have been wrapping up business in the land of men here on the west side of the mountains. I will stay a week or so more. But I have been preparing to leave for Imladris.

As if by fate, one night when I had returned to my camp, a scout was waiting for me. Not just any scout, but a scout from Imladris. He came  bearing a message from one of the messengers of the valley. I have been summoned back to the valley. I am told that it is not an order, but something that I may do of my own free will. I have been given leave to go where I wish, but My captain queries if I will take up my bow for him once more.

By the time I finished reading the message, I had already made my decision. This world is in need of as much help as it can get. To drive back the darkness, I must, and I will take up the bow for my lord once more. I made an oath long ago, to not leave these shores till I had seen evil overthrown. I will not back out of that oath, no matter how much it pains me.

I have sent word back to the valley that I shall return to the valley to aid Hir Elrond in whatever way I may. Darkness is coming and we all must prepare for war.
