A sketch of a wolf's den

The Woodmen of Eriador, having identified that a wolf pack in the Chetwood is hungry and suffering due to the lumbermen of Combe driving away their prey, are working on a plan to move those wolves to new homes, farther from the village and offering better hunting opportunities, using the secret beast-lore they were taught by Radagast. Scouting in the forest, their ally Em found a likely spot. The first step is to turn it into good dens, ready to be moved into. Some can be made with the natural terrain, or by digging out spaces under tree roots, and more by taking some of the rocks and boulders being unearthed by Eydia and Jessandra while they ready the crop-land to the east. But Heriwulf has a plan for Aelfrida and others to use branches and sod to make artificial root-nests, by binding the branches together, covering them with sod, and thus making a sheltered spot that can be moved there and tucked into place, to make even more welcoming safe spots for the displaced wolves. This is a charcoal sketch he did in the sketchbook Leohna gave him that he'll use to present this idea.

Drawn with charcoal brushes in Procreate on an iPad. See the full-sized image (which really helps given the charcoal effect and how dark the den itself is) and the reference image.
