I Dagor bo Amon Sûl - The Battle on Weathertop

The ground trembles, not enough to unbalance the company but they can feel it and the skeletal hands that come out of it clutching weapons soon acquire arms, heads and the rest of their bodies. A quick glance would say that there are more than thirty, equipped with all kinds of weapons and shields, spears, swords, axes, hammers and halberds. They all wear helmets and here and there on their bones are pieces of armour, a chainmail chestpiece on one, a leather legging there, a thick steel plate on the back of another and so on. They seem to be able to endure a few hits. As the skeletons emerge they cover the area around the company and the three men who were chanting are nowhere to be seen. The one known as Domruth slowly retreats behind the skeletons and very soon gets out of sight. The skeletons slowly move towards the company. Around the ruins the clouds do not let anyone see what time of the day it is. They may remember that it was a little before midnight when they arrived at the hill but how much time has passed since they can't know. It was a long ascent under the bad weather and they had taken a wrong path, not knowing how long they followed it for and how long it took them to find the right path and how long it took them since. But nothing matters now. Death seems inevitable as death itself is coming at them armed to the teeth. The ground shakes more and lightning strikes in the distance but they only see its outline through the thick dark clouds. One heartbeat after the lighting the thunder roars and the skeletons all light up and for that heartbeat they seem to have appeared closer...

Arthasdir raises his blades, moving to a more defensive stance as the numbers grow. Athlenah holds her bow and an arrow, looking around at the ground as the skeletons rise from it, "They’re everywhere!" Lheuwen raises her shield grimly, her eyes steely. Boreon unsheathes his sword and braces himself. Piorra stands alongside the rest of the company, weapons ready. Mornenion would run to the left to try to jump up on the ruined wall, to get a little out of reach of skeletons. He would nimbly jump up onto the wall, turning to face the skeletons and notching an arrow on his bow and then aiming at one of the undead. Mornenion would loose the arrow, hitting the skeleton and knocking a couple of its ribs off, causing it to crumble into a pile of bones

Caithryth's eyes dart over the shambling skeletons, doing a quick headcount before looking at the company. "Stick together!" she calls out, bracing herself for the first undead to come closer, within the reach of her sword, that she uses in wide swings. Caithryth tries to keep the advancing undead at bay, misjudging the speed and strength of the corpses completely. One axe slash swats her guard down by brute force, causing the axe blade to bite into the chainmail. Athlenah loads up the arrow she was holding and pulls back the string, standing behind everybody and shoots her arrow between Fiontann and Caithryth. The arrow hits an empty eye socket, shooting off the head of the skeleton. The body of the skeleton falls to pieces.

Arthasdir would set himself as the skeletons came forward, but as he was to the front there were too many, with one shambling corpse hitting a hammer off his shoulder. Lheuwen jabs wildly at the nearest undead with her spear, but with no experience of fighting such a foe, she inflicts no damage. Piorra would hit one of the skeletons, causing it to crumble to the floor. Fiontann takes a step forward and slashes against the first skeleton that approaches, he slashes across its body and the skeleton falls to pieces. He then turns to the others "Stay close! Don't spread out too much!" Boreon, at Fiontann’s command, makes his way to the right flank to form a line and parries away a jab from an undead. Athlenah looks around, calling to no one in particular, "I need to move! I can't keep shooting between you all!” Caithryth shouts at Athlenah. "Shoot those that try to get around!" Athlenah shouts in return, 'I will try!'

Mornenion would take two arrows, turning the bow at an angle to try to shoot to skeletons at once, the ones attacking Fiontann and Caithryth. He would, as his two shots kill the skeletons he'd just shot at, reach for another arrow. He shoots it at random skeleton in the fight that catches his gaze. He quickly draws another after firing that one, not even looking if he hit it and shoots at another random skeleton, then drawing another arrow and shooting at a third random skeleton. The three arrows that Mornenion shoots all land true. The first hits right through the eyes socket of one skeleton and it collapses into a pile of bones. The second one hits a skeleton on the hip bone, knocking it over and causing its bones to shatter. The third arrow goes straight through the spine at the neck of the last skeleton, sending its skull tumbling to the floor before the rest of its body crumbles.

The first skeletons that got close to the company all became lifeless bones as they should be. While the company is busy with the ones at the front and as they fall the others approach and start attacking! A skeleton with a sword and shield attacks Fiontann trying to stab him. A skeleton with a spear tries to stab Caithryth's stomach. A skeleton with two swords tries to attack Arthasdir by stabbing him with both at the same time. A spear comes straight at Athlenah's face. An axe tries to go past Boreon and pull him closer to the skeleton. A great axe is coming down on Lheuwen's right shoulder.

Lheuwen overextended with her earlier lunge and now pays the price; she cannot draw back before the battleaxe slices her upper arm. High on adrenaline, she does not immediately notice. Athlenah ducks and turns to evade the spear but it scratches the hood on her head and some of her hair but she manages to avoids injury. Arthasdir would bring up both of his blades, meeting the underside of the opposing and driving them up into the air, away from himself. Athlenah looks behind her, at the spear, and then looks next of her, yelling to anyone who would listen, "Cover me!" Piorra moves to protect Athlenah as she then tries to climb onto the stone wall, placing her free hand on the wall and her foot on a loose brick to push herself off the ground. However, the loose brick breaks and she falls and stumbles onto her knees. Yet, she pushes herself back up, moving to try to climb the wall again. Caithryth's eyes widen in surprise as the first undead more or less crumble back to unlife. The surprise wears off with a new wave of dread, as another still very alive undead steps over his fallen comrade and thrusts at her with his spear. She twists to the side, causing the stab to hit empty air. Fiontann parries the incoming blade that aims for his face and sends a kick to the skeleton to push it back and lifts his own sword. Fiontann is almost next to his attacker and holds the sword in both hands so he slams its skull with the pommel shattering it. He takes a step back in order to not get far from the company and swings his blade from left to right with both hands, smashing a second skeleton. Then following the momentum, he swings in the opposite direction, smashing a third one. Boreon grunts in surprise as he is pulled towards a skeleton. He raises his arm defensively in anticipation. He elbows the undead that pulled him in the 'face', smashing its skull into dust. As another skeleton swings at him, he wildly swings with his sword and it slices through its ribs.

Arthasdir brings his right blade low again, plunging it into the ribcage of the skeleton. He would then turn to his right, spinning both blades around with his wrists. Then, he would leap forward, bringing them together in an X before slashing down with both across two further foes. Caithryth twisted out-of-the-way of the spear thrust and uses the opportunity to bring her dagger around, with a stab aimed high, as you would, against the shambling corpse attacking her. The blade punches cleanly through the skull plate, causing the wight to crumble into a lifeless heap. Another one follows up, but gets its legs shattered by a swift, low stroke with her long blade. Lheuwen snarls in anger and lunges with her spear again but is shoved back with surprising force. She'll get the hang of these skeletons... eventually... but hasn't yet. Athlenah climbs on the wall and pulls out an arrow from her hip quiver, loading her bow and releasing the string, letting the arrow soar through the sky. It hits a skeleton in the side of the head, causing it to fall into pieces.

The fight gets fiercer and fiercer. A skeleton has creeped towards Mornenion with a great axe and tries to hook his right leg to drop him from the wall. A spear is flying towards Athlenah from the endless waves of skeletons. Arthasdir feels an urge to attack Fiontann.

Mornenion would, as the skeleton's great axe swipes at his leg, quickly kick the shaft of the great axe so that it disarms the skeleton and does so with enough force that the skeleton itself also drops to the floor, not to get up again. Athlenah rolls aside avoiding the spear, yelling at her attacker as if they would listen to her and do as she commands, "Stop throwing them!" She then takes out a new arrow, to take aim at the spear thrower. Arthasdir would look to his left, towards Fiontann, who brings his sword up and holds it horizontally, supporting the blade with his left hand and blocks the halberd that was aiming at his head. Arthasdir tilts his head for a moment before looking back to the foes. Lheuwen catches the net blow from the great axe on her shield, and grins up at the skeleton gleefully, its weapon momentarily lodged. Boreon gets caught up between too many foes and struggles to raise his sword to be of any use. A wayward axe handle catches him in the face and he nearly stumbles to the ground

Caithryth laughed, amidst all the chaos, as her last enemy tries to crawl on the floor before its unlife ends. She shuts up as another skeleton darts forth from the darkness of the storm, causing her to defend a variety of wild swings that gets dealt with uncanny speed. She feels hits connect with her armour, one definitely went in, as she grits her teeth, trying to survive the onslaught. Caithryth feels the urge to drop her weapons and run towards the gate that is blocked, she feels fear, she has to face death after all. Fiontann feels the urge to attack Arthasdir. Athlenah feels the need to hide behind the wall, dropping her weapon.

Athlenah starts to shiver and looks around her in a slight panic and then looks at her friends, especially to one of them. However, after a few moments, she shakes off the panic feeling and regains focus. Piorra stands in front of where Athlenah is on the wall, keeping the skeletons back as much as she can. Fiontann was about to attack a skeleton but stops midway and slams the pommel of his sword on Arthasdir's shoulder, taking a swing to his right. Caithryth gets pushed back with each attack, feeling dread overcome here as she just gets pummeled more and more by the vicious attacks. She is unable to snap out of it, and after a parry that gives her a moment of respite, she staggers back, step by step towards the crumbled entrance, dropping first the dagger, then the sword.

Arthasdir pushes back an oncoming skeleton, moving back into line only to be hit by Fiontann, he would let out a grunt of pain, looking at the man with wide, shocked eyes, his blades lowered. Lheuwen uses her shield to jerk the skeleton off-balance, smashing her spear into its skull. This tactic seems to be effective, so she tries it on two more, adjusting her grip to hold her spear overhanded and shatter skulls better. Boreon unsheathes his dagger amidst the chaos and wielding it in his left hand, he stabs up and it seems to break the spell that holds the bones together of a foe. This gives him a bit more space to swing his sword again, decapitating an unlucky foe.

Mornenion would draw three arrows, holding two at the grip of his bow as he notches one and aims at a random skeleton and loosing the arrow, then taking the next arrow, notching it and loosing it at another skeleton and then finally with the last arrow, notching and loosing it at another skeleton. Mornenion's first arrow would get stuck in between the skeleton's shoulder joints, causing it not to be able to use its weapon. His second arrow would knock one of the calf bones out from a skeleton, causing the other bone to snap and for the rests of its body to fall to the floor. The third arrow would go into a skeletons nasal socket, causing the skeleton to collapse instantly.

Suddenly, Mornenion and Athlenah feel the urge to shoot at each other. Caithryth now feels herself once more and can fight. Lheuwen feels a strong, very strong urge to attack Boreon.

Mornenion would seem to remember something, his face returning to the angry expression it had earlier. He notches an arrow and aims across the ruin, not at the skeletons but instead at someone else. He looses the arrow and it hits Athlenah in the right thigh. Athlenah growls in pain and focuses her anger from the spear thrower to Mornenion, shooting at him. She manages to hit him in the lower right arm. Mornenion would yell, "Ego!" He pulls the arrow from his arm, notching it to his bow. He aims his bow once more and it is uncertain where he is aiming. Athlenah falls to her left knee and snaps out of where ever she was in and looks down to her right thigh. Piorra would look to Athlenah in concern, but nearly gets stabbed by a skeleton and returns to fighting the skeletons off. Lheuwen feels a dark influence goading her to strike her riding-companion but crushes it with the iron loyalty of her people, glaring around her the cause. Was the witch setting them against one another...? Lheuwen cries out to the others. "Stop fighting each other!"

Caithryth reaches up for her forehead, taking her head in between her hands as she shakes it, trying to snap out of it. She opens her eyes again, and sees the undead lunging at her, just in time to throw herself to the floor to evade. Scrambling over the wet earth, her fingers find her sword again, and she turns to defend herself with a wild swing, cutting the sword arm of the wight off right at the elbow, following up with a thrust through its ribcage. The bag of bones collapses immediately, showering her with dirt and fragments. Boreon seems to find his stride as Caithryth's training has paid off, and he parries not one but two swings at him. Fiontann was confused after he hit Arthasdir and lost his focus completely. He stopped and kept looking at his hands, thinking what he had just done. What brings him to reality is a strong hit in the face from the butt of a spear and he staggers back. Arthasdir would turn his sight from Fiontann just in time to raise his right blade to meet a oncomming spear, cutting through the shaft.

"Enough. I will deal with them." says an angry, female voice and the skeletons start going back into the earth, in almost the same way they came, but a little faster. From behind the ruins the Blind Warrior, Domruth appears. She wears black plated armour and leather trousers with chainmail on them, steel gauntlets and no helm. She walks slowly towards the company, holding her swords to her sides as her hands are hanging. Her beautiful hair is flowing gracefully. Her pretty face starts to form as she approaches, and her beautiful smile is the exact opposite to her eyes where they can see only the white. As she walks everyone feels the urge to step back.

Caithryth rolls to her side, grabbing her dagger again and gets to her feet just as the woman calls out. She turns around, narrowing her eyes as the cause for all the suffering finally reveals herself. She approaches, to be in line with her comrades again.

Lheuwen stumbles away in dread, her defiance knocked out of her. Arthasdir steps one foot back, then another, then one more, his eyes fixated on the woman. Fiontann was about to start walking towards the approaching figure but his legs don't obey. Instead of walking towards her, he starts stepping backwards and away, almost in fear, a fear he cannot explain. Athlenah pushes herself off with her left leg and falls behind the wall, landing on her back. Piorra steps back, fear written across her face, her back hitting the wall. Boreon lowers his blades as he stares in horror at the woman, and he starts backing away slowly. Mornenion would lower his bow, looking to Domruth, muttering to himself in Sindarin that she is beautiful for an evil being and for a person of the race of men.

The woman watches them with a smirk and fixes her gaze on Caithryth, the only person who didn't step back from her. She charges at her, and slashes against the woman two times. Caithryth waits for the charge, moving into it herself, bringing her weapon up to parry hers in a swift exchange, upon which more swordplay follows. She quickly ends up on the back foot, getting forced back step by step until she is not quick enough, and one of the woman's blades bites through mail, leaving a thin, bloody cut.

Mornenion would shake his head as if to get the thoughts out of his mind, raising his bow back up and aiming at Domruth. With a sigh, he looses the arrow, but it misses - it seems that Mornenion wasn't focusing on hitting her properly.

Athlenah sits up and rubs the back of her head and grab hold on the wall to pull herself up and looks over the wall to the fight, "This is bad." Fiontann hears the sounds of the fight and gathers himself. "On her, surround her!" he shouts and runs to the right of Caithryth, charging at their enemy. Boreon musters up his last remaining will to fight and makes a run for the woman, blades drawn, but he doesn't get there in time. Piorra follows Fiontann's command, running up to stand next to Fiontann to surround Domruth, in a defensive position. Lheuwen charges in but her off-balance lunge misses completely. Arthasdir shakes his head, raising his blades and moving to retake his ground. He would burst into a charge towards the woman, raising his right blade high and trailing his left low. As he reached her, he would bring them together across her, slashing with all his might.

Mornenion would take another arrow at his quiver, aiming at Domruth once more. He pauses for a moment and the angry look returns. He looses the arrow and hits her near the wrist with his arrow. Fiontann run towards the woman keeping the sword low but as soon as he gets close he swings it from right to left and manages to slash against her torso. Caithryth spits out in pain and anger, clutching her sword tighter. The next exchange follows, just as the others begin to finally move up. She uses the opportunity to make her opponent pay in blood as well, binding the sword with her long steel, while using the opening with a swift downward thrust of her dagger, feeling the tip slide between the plates of the armor.

Athlenah looks around the area for the other priests and the altar, to see if they are still there. However, she doesn’t see anything, as they disappeared earlier. Athlenah then limps behind the wall to the other side of the field to see if there is something she can use against the woman.

The woman gets hit several times, but she doesn't seem to be affected. Boreon is affected by something though and he feels the urge to hit Fiontann from where he is. Lheuwen feels the urge to hit Caithryth and Domruth turns and attacks Arthasdir. She sends a right blade for a stab and a left blade in a swing, after which she'll swing her right blade towards Fiontann.

This time, the urge to kill is stronger. Darkness washes over Lheuwen, and she would try to strike Caithryth with the boss of her shield, stunning her. Caithryth was about to follow-up with another attack on the woman, the apparition, as it seems to be far less affected by those hits than she is. She was, however, completely unprepared for Lheuwen's shield-bash, staggering to the side as she gets hit hard. Boreon lunges forward, suddenly aiming himself towards Fiontann for a moment before he stops, skidding on the loose stones underneath. He shakes his head to recover his thoughts then shifts his attention back to the woman. Arthasdir raises his blade up to meet her swinging left blade, parrying it in the air. However, he would then feel the pain of her other blade piercing the side of his hip.

Mornenion would take out three arrows from his quiver, notching and loosing them all at Domruth in quick succession. The first hits her in the shoulder, the second skims over the top of her head and the third hits her right in the side, between her ribs. But, after he shoots, Mornenion feels the urge to drop his bow and move and sit down behind the wall. Mornenion would feel the sorcery that made him shoot Athlenah enter his mind and this time recognises it for what it is. He focuses on Domruth and reaches back into his quiver for more arrows, feeling that there are about half of them left.

Athlenah feels the urge to shoot at Arthasdir. She does start to lose herself again and taking out a new arrow and loading it up. She releases, hitting Arthasdir's right lower leg. Arthasdir lets out a loud roar of pain from the wound on his hip and the arrow hitting his right calve, turning quickly he would bring down both of his blades slashing downwards across each side of Domruth's shoulders.

Lheuwen snaps back to her senses and redirects her attention on Domruth. "You utter witch!" She thrusts hard and fast with her spear at Domruth's midriff, landing a blow. Fiontann manages to slash against the woman's stomach with a quick swing of his sword and then tries to move to the other side as almost everyone is there. Boreon moves forward and jabs forward with his sword, finding nothing Caithryth shouts something that sounds similar, and thrusts at the figure with all her strength, hitting her square in the chest. She can feel the impact on the armour in her own arm.

A loud laugh comes from Domruth's lips when she sees Boreon swinging his sword and then swiftly tries to kick him in the chest to send him away. It's a strong kick. With a quick turn she shifts her gaze to Lheuwen and tries to slash against her chest once, then tries to stab at Caithryth. Mornenion feels the urge to shoot at Athlenah. Athlenah feels the urge to drop her bow and move towards the group.

Boreon goes sprawling backwards as the strong kick land squarely in his chest. He lands awkwardly, his head hitting a rock. He fails to get up, falling unconscious instead. Lheuwen fails to block Domruth's rapid slash. It catches her the chest, knocking her backwards - but the leather jerkin would protect Lheuwen from a more severe wound. Caithryth feels the blade is stuck in the armor after her thrust. The movement of her opponent almost yanks it out of her hands, but she keeps hold of it as it breaks free. She's too late to avoid the retaliatory slash herself. She brings her dagger up in an attempt to deflect the attack, still, the tip causes a painful, searing slash across her midsection. Mornenion would as he reaches for another arrow, spot Athlenah standing to the side. He looks angry once more and ignores the feeling of the sorcery in his head. He aims his bow towards Athlenah and shoots her in the shoulder. Athlenah yells out and takes a step back as she gets hit and drops her bow. Yet, an urge causes Athlenah start slowly limping towards the group

With a loud rumble, the ground shakes violently, so much so that it could cause those who were not balanced to fall to the ground. Arthasdir crumples to his right as his legs goes with the arrow wound and stab. Fiontann feels the earth shake and falls flat on the ground. The sword escapes his grip and he rolls away from the enemy. Piorra loses her footing in the rumble and drops to her knees. Lheuwen is thrown completely off-balance and falls hard several feet away into a thorny bush.

Mornenion would hold out his arms to keep balance as the ground shakes - by doing so he is able to stay up on the wall. Athlenah holds her balance and keep limping towards the group. Caithryth manages to stay on her feet, but she can't do much else than trying to hold her balance.

Domruth quickly chooses one of those that are still standing and takes one quick step towards Caithryth. She swings her right sword to the left, her left sword to the right, the right sword to the left again and the left sword to the right. A fifth attack comes in the form of a kick in the stomach to send her away. Caithryth was not ready for what follows as she was trying to stay on her feet. The first attack hits her from the side, the blade biting deep into the armor with a soft, unpleasant sound. More or less stunned by the pain the other sword hits home, too, tearing her mail open along her stomach, blood flying in an arc. The next attack is poised to kill, but Caithryth manages to pull herself together, bringing her guard up again and deflect the blade down deep into the earth, following up with a dagger thrust to the blind woman's outstretched leg, taking another hit to her right shoulder that almost knocks her unconscious. She staggers back after getting kicked, staying barely on her feet.

Mornenion would take out three arrows and shoot them in quick succession, but they all fly past Domruth as she moves to quick. Athlenah is now close to the group, slowly limping towards them. Lheuwen is attempting to pick her way out of the thorn-bush. Arthasdir would break off the arrow sticking out of his leg, he would push himself slowly to his feet. A complete grimace of pain spreading from his face. Athlenah snaps out of Domruth’s influence and looks around in confusion and goes back to her bow. Piorra would quickly crawl towards Caithryth, dropping her spear by her feet. "You're wounded... badly!"

Domruth starts running towards Mornenion. The elf would, as Domruth runs towards him, take two arrows and fire them at her. One flies over her shoulder and the other hits her in the chest. The arrow doesn't seem to be able to stop her as she nimbly jumps up enough to manage to step on the wall to get a good footing, then takes a step forward and attacks Mornenion. She swings her right blade to the left, her left blade to the right, sends a stab with her right blade and swings her left. Mornenion would drop his bow and reaches for his dagger and sword. But he is not fast enough and gets hit on the right arm, then the left arm, though the cuts are not deep. Mornenion tries to jump away but the stab reaches him and digs in part his armour near his hip. He then gets hit on the upper right arm, though he manages to unsheathe his dagger at this point. Mornenion just start to look angrier and angrier at each hit. Mornenion would skillfully twirl his dagger around in his hand, bringing it in for a swipe to her abdomen, managing to slice through her armour and damage her a little bit.

In the meantime, Fiontann has pushed himself up and drawn his longsword and shield. He spots Domruth and makes ready. He also pulls his shoulder pad off and throws it on the ground as he walks towards the wall. Caithryth spits out some blood, still standing, and fueled by adrenaline, which pushes the pain a bit into the background. She is bleeding quite profusely but keeps her eyes on the blind woman. She tries to move past Piorra, towards the wall where Mornenion is making his stand. Piorra goes to grab Caithryth's arm to drag her away. Caithryth brushes Piorra's hand off, walking over to join the others in the fight. She looks a lot less steady and elegant on her feet than before. Piorra still holds her hand out, astonished at Caithryth's look of determination. Lheuwen has picked herself up by now and would charge towards Domruth to re-engage. Arthasdir winces, looking down as blood slowly weeps from his right leg in two places. He would slowly move forward towards Domruth, slowed by his wounds. Athlenah place an arrow on her bow, pulling back the string in pain and releases with a groan of pain as the arrow completely misses the woman.

Domruth bleeds a little for the first time when Mornenion stabs her and turns her face to him. The white of her eyes is almost terrifying this close. She smiles, a twisted grin that is sent solely to Mornenion and she tries to headbutt him. Mornenion would step back to avoid the headbutt and then swipes his dagger at Domruth once more, but the distance created by stepping away from the headbutt means that he doesn't quite hit, the blade instead just scratching her armour.

Caithryth and Fiontann feel the urge to attack Arthasdir. Piorra feels the urge to attack Lheuwen. Lheuwen feels a strange and distant fear rise in her, she wants to drop her weapons and run to the gate.

Caithryth’s vision focuses more and more on Domruth, and nothing else, as she's creeping closer. She stops, staggers for a moment, seeing nothing but black, then as her vision returns she sees the woman in front of her. With an angry shout she hacks wildly at the figure, not noticing that she is actually aiming at Arthasdir. Fiontann lifted his sword but he realises that he is too far to attack Domruth, he starts turning towards Arthasdir and gets a hold of himself. On the other side he sees Caithryth going for it and he shouts "Arthasdir, to your left!" Arthasdir turns quickly hearing Fiontann's call, he would manage to raise his left blade just in time to parry the blow away from him.

Piorra stares at the hand that Caithryth brushed off for a moment. It suddenly clasps into a fist as she starts shaking with fury, and she charges Lheuwen from behind. Piorra gets two hands onto Lheuwen's neck and would try and push her to the ground. Lheuwen is stopped midcharge, and immediately grabs Piorra's wrists to try to free herself.

Athlenah looks at the arrows still sticking out of her and limps to behind the wall and looks around. The huntress then takes a new arrow from her hip quiver and loads up, pulling back the string, ignoring the pain in her shoulder and releases, aiming for the woman's back. Domruth sees Mornenion attempt to hit and lifts her left blade to strike and at that moment Athlenah's arrow hits her. The blind woman turns around to look at Athlenah and the huntress feels the urge to shoot at her leg. Athlenah take out a new arrow from her hip quiver and aims down at her lower left leg, releasing the bowstring, which is followed by a sickening sound of the arrow managing to pierce her flesh. Athlenah screams out in pain as she realises what she has done to herself.

Arthasdir would turn back towards Domruth, limping forward to try to get within sword reach. Fiontann walks quickly towards Domruth in order to strike. Caithryth shakes her head, looking very surprised as she sees her blade slide off Arthasdir's sword. With a sudden rush of anger, she throws herself towards Domruth, attacking her with an angry combined, reckless attack from both long and short steel, hitting her from both sides. Caithryth throws herself forward towards the wall, slashing at Domruth's feet with a reckless, and above all, angry swing. Lheuwen forces Piorra's hands off herself with a burst of willpower and, ignoring Piorra because she knows Domruth's control doesn't last long, closes the distance from Domruth. Piorra stumbles forward and falls again to her knees, finding her spear on the ground. Piorra says, 'Get... get out of my head!' Arthasdir would thrash out towards the woman’s legs with his left blade, holding himself up with his right hand on the wall. Athlenah looks around her in a panic and starts hyperventilating. Soon the panic, stress and pain become too much and the world turns black around her as she collapses to the ground as she loses consciousness.

Mornenion would jump forward, stabbing his dagger down into Domruth's shoulder, hissing in Sindarin as he does so, "Sogathon i nîr hêr gîn." Domruth starts bleeding from the shoulder and Caithryth manages to stab the blind warrior's left foot, making her groan in pain loudly. Arthasdir's slash at the back of her ankle makes her kneel slightly. Right at that moment the lightnings become stronger and the dense clouds close in around the ruins until nothing can be seen. Sounds of footsteps reach everyone's ears from all sides and all they can hear is a hissing voice. "She's not ready yet. She needs the bracelet." and then the same voice changing tone, still hissing but now formal and serious and almost caring. "Come child, your Jewel is in the Fortress. Then you will be ready." Thunder roars, the lightnings reveal several figures and everyone is almost frozen, a few moments pass that seem like an hour or two and soon the ruins clear of everything. No clouds, no enemies, no sounds and no rabble at the gate, it looks as it was, undamaged, there's not even a single crack on it.

Mornenion would pause, taking a moment to process that Domruth vanished from in front of him and the words. He hisses once more in elvish, clearly very angry that Domruth got away, "Û! I dass eno ú-garnen!"

Lheuwen had just reached the wall, weapons drawn, only now to find their foe has gone. Lheuwen swears loudly in Dunnish, then saying in Westron, 'That is so annoying.' Lheuwen stabs her spear into the ground in anger. Arthasdir looks around in shock, nothing... he would slump against the stone wall. Arthasdir pulls his helmet off, showing a sweaty tired face. Caithryth looks around, as if in a trance, then she lowers her blades. "Did you hear that as well?" Her voice is coarse. Fiontann throws his weapons on the ground in anger and makes a complete three hundred and sixty turn on his heels, then he kicks the dirt. He shouts, 'Yes and they're gone. Again!'

Caithryth slumps down against the wall as well, grimacing as she touches her stomach. Looking at her mailed hand she sees red. She does close her eyes and rests her head back against the wall, breathing heavily, still. Caithryth fumbles for her belt pouch, pulling a small tin flask out of it, which she uncorks with her mouth before taking a thirsty sip, coughing afterwards. Arthasdir looks to the now clear sky, dismay written across his face. Arthasdir looks to the arrow tip still left in his upper calve and to the stab wound on the side of his hip. Lheuwen throws her shield away with a clatter, narrowly missing Piorra. She sits down to examine the wounds to her shoulder and front. Piorra takes off her helmet and drops in on the ground. "What can we do? We can't win, we're just... mere mortals" Piorra shakes her head. "Perhaps we need an army of elves or something."

Mornenion would grab his bow, jumping down from the wall, seeming so angry that he ignores the pain of his wounds and runs over to the edge to see if he can see Domruth and the figures who took her. Mornenion would see ten figures now at a distance from the mountain going East. Mornenion would start sprinting to the path down from the ruin, so angry that it seems he is trying to chase the figures he sees, completely ignoring his wounds.
