Soon enough we entered the Morgul Vale after a quick rest. I have decided to split our force into three separate units. That was for me a very hard decision to make. I faced the twins after dividing the others. I knew that they cannot go with the first group and that they will be safer on the back. "Iarnuil, you will stay by the camp and entrance to the Vale with the third group. Iarvenil, you will follow the second group into the woods - Shall the first group fail, the second needs to inform the others and hold the position. You will be the messenger. I shall go with the main force." - I then said and looked at them. Iarnuil looked at me but he knew that he cannot go against my orders. I glanced briefly at him and then Iarvenil as a quick goodbye just in case. Then I have moved with the group I assigned to go with me. We rode off the main path and moved towards the river, where we were meant to stay and watch the Vale. Everything was calm even if we have seen the grim shadowy shape on the other side of the Vale. I was focused. I kept thinking about Araithil and the battle of Osgiliath and then again about the task I was on. Soon enough everything has changed as we heard the will-breaking shriek coming from the sky. We covered our ears and I soon recalled the ranger's words. "The Flying Beasts..." - I whispered to myself and then glanced to the sky to see the approaching doom. "Prepare yourselves!" - I shouted towards the soldiers and soon we have spotted orcs coming from Minas Morgul as well as the beast was still circling above us. I looked at the one of the soldiers. "Go.. .warn the other group..." - I spoke towards him and as soon as he rode off the battle was joined. I knew that we cannot win this fight but even if we tried to retreat that beast would have gotten us. The soldiers kept fighting with me alongside them. We have managed to push back the orcs but the beast kept killing us like ants. I glanced at the soldiers. That was enough for us and we needed to take our chances even if I would die for going against The Steward's orders. I couldn't let everyone die because of an order. "Fall back! To the other position! Fall back!" - I shouted to the remaining fighters and so we started the retreat into the woods. We have managed to dodge the beast for a while but it didn't last long. We were almost at our goal when suddenly I felt something sharp piercing me from both sides. I heard the shriek again, being so close and I glanced up and down. I was in the air and the beast kept carrying me even higher. The grim-looking rider looked at me from under his hood but I didn't see his face. Afterwards, the beast released me and I hit the ground not long after. I couldn't move. I have seen darkness but felt someone standing by me. "Nethillon... Nethillon it's me...." - I then recognized Iarvenil's voice. I was breathing hardly but I needed to make sure he is safe. "Warn... Iarnuil...." - I managed to get out of myself as a wave of pain overcame me. "I will..." - He then answered me something but I heard only these two words. I ripped something off me with my left hand I still could move. "Keep it.... safe...." - I then felt Iarvenil taking it from me as I decided to speak once more. "Run.... Leave... me..." - I finished speaking having no strenght anymore. I don't know if Iarvenil answered me but I heard someone running away not long after. I've been laying here for a while before I felt something cold approaching me. It hissed at me and I heard a voice that, If I was to survive I will never forget. "Get him alive..." - I heard that deep voice both in my head and like normal. The Last thing I felt were smelly arms grabbing me and dragging me away, then darkness took it all...
