Days kept passing by but soon enough I have returned back to the island. And there I have managed to meet her one, last time before the next task. That was the worst one I could ever get. But instead of worrying about it we just talked about her upcoming tasks that might have us separated for a long time. I nodded and looked at her. "Then both of us will be busy...Hopefully we will meet again after that time." - I said then calmly. She tapped the armrest with her finger. "I do not know how this all affects. To you, to me, to him.." - She said with a calm and sure tone as well. I smiled lightly at her. "That is your duty to go. Don't worry about me and you. Even years apart doesn't break this friendship..." - I then said before my thoughts wandered more towards my own next task. "And your heart?" - She then asked and kept looking at me. "It will wait as much as needed." - I looked at her then and we proceeded into something important. A task that was really important for both of us. But at the end of that talk I was disappointed, really disappointed. I felt like I let her down by not putting enough effort in it. But then we agreed that she will help me with the Garrison. "What?" - The ranger then asked as I kept looking at her and then smiled at her. "It's good to see you again." - I kept smiling at her. "Didn't your mother warned you about ones like me?" - She then asked me. "I found ones like you pretty awesome." - I laughed then and she did as well. But I knew that I need to ask her about something and tell about my leave. "May I have a question, my dear friend?" - I then asked with a smile. And as she allowed me to I decided to speak."Will you be around for a while or leaving soon?" - And as I asked she told me that she will stick around. "Could you have an eye on the garrison for a while?" - I asked once more. " Of course. Are you going somewhere?" - She then looked worried. "We have been called back to Minas Tirith to begin our next task." - I started the whole story about the task. I was hoping that she'll take it as good as possible. "The haradrim issue?" - She then asked and I responded fast. "I think I will leave this matter under Captain Walore's and Major Comak's hands. Both my brothers and I have been called for halting the enemy advance in Osgiliath." - I continued. She advised me to talk to them before my leave but I knew that I could only write to them as I was running out of time. "I will... as I leave for Morgul Vale soon..." - I then looked at the window worried about my brothers more than about myself. "Morgul Vale! Are you mad!? Its no place to go anyone..Maybe my cousin but she has as bad soul as nazguls do. Neth! You dont understand..they got new..flying beasts. I swear I no lie. I saw it upon the East sky." - The ranger looked really worried and even scared? I do not know for sure. "I have no choice..Whatever happens please take care." - I said with a worried tone towards her. "Try your all to come back. Don't want send my cousin after you or my commander." - She said sadly towards me, resting her hand on my shoulder. "Whatever happens, don't look for me. I'm not worth it." - I answered then and weren't prepared for what was incoming. She stopped herself right before slapping me. "Don't say that! EVER! You.. don't ever..EVER! say so again!" - She then shouted in shock from what I just said. I asked her then how one man could be worth risking the lives of the others. "Every commander, officer need to know that sending soldiers to fight means lossses. It is inevidable. Everyone's life is precious and unique. Every healer must accept that we can't save everyone." - She then said calmly once again. I knew that I will do everything I can to return but If I don't that will be the end. "Be sure... If I do not return... I am dead." - I then said with a sad tone looking at her. She has turned pale as I spoke. In this silence she kept looking at me with eyes full of tears. I just embraced her and let both of us feel the safety and closeness of each other. I was broken inside as I felt her emotions. "I wont let them..have your body..Dead or alive...I wont.." - She then whispered to me while we remained in embrace. A tear escaped my eye again. She is really dear to me and I really felt bad with all that I needed to tell her. Suddenly she seemed more emotional than before. "Stupid man! Y-you get back.. Y-you hear me! My terrible cousin is right, you males are stupid!" - She shouted and hit my chestpiece with a small force. But I still saw the worry on her face. Then we just talked about our emotions a bit more until I have received a missive from the White City. "By the way..you are not captain anymore. If you lead, you are a commander." - She then told me but I didn't feel like a leader. I was just a man above all. "I am just a replacement for now. For you I'd rather stay just a friend when it comes to ranks." - I then smiled at her and she smiled back at me. "Friends don't have ranks." - She then said as she kept looking at me. "Yet still I am honoured to be yours." - I answered with a smile giving her a salute. And soon both of us were on the way out for some gathering job. We talked more about everything as we gathered the herbs around the island. She showed me some useable things that could be helpful on my task. "I am to leave this night..." - I said as I readed the missive then looked at the ground. The ranger then came closer and put her hands around my face to wipe the rain off me. She explained some more things to me as she continued doing so. "There is a reason I make these. My body may be broken..and full of scars..but my mind works." - She then said wiping away more raindrops. "Remember... for me you are never broken." - I said while looking into her eyes. "And you are always my brave captain." - She answered me reassuring me more and I just smiled at her. "Let's enjoy this beautiful day while we still have time, my dear." - I then said and we continued our foraging job in the rain. We seemed to be happy at that moment. Nothing was boring when we were around each other. "Have you been up there?" - She then asked me pointing at the top of the island, onto the beacon. "Only once for a short moment." - I answered her and then she started to guide me. "Come. I am often there. Watching the moon, sun and sea" - She said with a relaxed tone then slipped on a wet stone but both of us managed to stay up there. "Wish I had time to relax sometimes..." - I then said holding her gently so she won't slip again. "Now you got time. Big world.." - She said as we stood upon the peak and glanced into the distance. I agreed with her with a smile and then she continued. "This is the best view. Endless sea, Eternity. Now..close your eyes." - She then continued and guided me once again as I closed my eyes. Then I felt her hands on my neck, trying to relax me. It was so pleasant as I never felt anything that relaxing. Soon we were talking about the rain and the view enjoying the moment and I felt really relaxed. I opened my eyes once more. I thanked her for everything she did for me. Then she confirmed that I was a bit special for her once again. Then I sat down on the wet beacon and she scolded me because of possible sickness. I laid my cloak on the ground for her, so she could join me and as she did we continued talking. "I love moments like this. Everything just slows down. You don't need to run anymore and just enjoy what happens at the moment." - I then said enjoying the moment again. She then agreed with me. "It is this moments why we fight for, and keep on fighting. that's what we do for loved ones and these moments..are what for fighters try stay alive and come back." - She added then. Then everything felt so alright. I just rested my head on her shoulder and fell asleep as the night approached. I was so calm. She kept watching over both of us as she carressed my hair again. I slept for the night like this not thinking about my leave. Until I woke up. Every good moment has to pass sometime. We just went back to the garrisson so I could change to dry clothes and as I did so she grabbed my wet cloak. I left it with her as she seemed to be glad to have it. After that moment time for goodbyes has come as we approached the docks. "Whatever happens, just hold on. And remember you've always been special to me." - I then said when we stayed in embrace one more time. "You said, your life is mine..and its mine to look after..Come back, please. Be as safe as you can, and vigilant and alert." - She said as she kept looking at me and I nodded. I knew I would do my best to return to her. I kept looking into her eyes in silence. Then I decided it was the right time to give her the gift of mine. What was it? Only she knows. And I do as I had a similar one with me all the time. "Nên vaer a lalaith veren n'i a-gevenif. Boe annin mened (Sweet water and joyous laughter till next we meet. I must go now)" - I said as I kept looking into her eyes. "May Elbereth guide your paths" - She answered with a sad smile. I then gave her another hug and then she kissed my forehead. I smiled at her once again as I came onto the ship. I knew I was going to miss her so much. We kept looking at each other until she disappeared from my view. I hoped to come back for you, my dear. Whatever awaits me next...
