The Valliant Heart: Introduction

We followed the Major once again so no one could hear our conversation. We remained silent on the way as it seemed the best options with the Major's hard temper. She must've been a really tough person after all if people were just going away from her way. Finally, we stopped by the bay. "Here can talk. Speak!" - She then said hardly towards us as she looked at us with folded arms. I did not like that attitude at all. The respect should be for both sides, not for one! But we were only a guests in here so i needed to fight the feeling to comment it. Especially as the case depended on how we will act. "It's about Nyraewyn." - I said without getting my gaze off Luciana. She wanted to keep it on concrets? Let's be it. But I also wanted to know if she will respect my decision to stay anonymous. "Nyraewyn. You must be then from Battalion. Amrothian soldiers dont look like that or walk. Who the hell trained you anyway? Never mind. What about Nyraewyn?" - She spoke in return commenting everything that she could. It was not her business at all to question my ways or my training. The Steward wouldn't be pleased with that comment nor would be the Prince. All was clear now. She will not respect anything related to me but I needed to try once more. "She is now safe around our battalion but her case seems to be still open. She told me that you could help us with reaching the person responsible for all the evil. We need to make him pay for his crimes." - I then said with a serious tone to be honest with the woman. Velam nodded at my words. He was the only person here to respect both me and The Major. "She what? Oh for crying out loud. She had no right speak of that case. And yes, Battalion is considered ally with Dol Amroth. So who you two are and no lies." - Luciana then responded once again enforcing her way of the things on us. And here was the last test of respect. "Mithalion, as I am known around here." - I said introducing myself with the cover name. I was wondering if she would respect my way or totally ignore it for her own pleasure. "Your real name, I said no Lies! " - She shouted towards me. How disrespectful! Once again. Why on the world I had to deal with that. But there was no time to think. "Captain Nethillon Thanduil of the Fifth Gondorian Battalion" - I responded with a hard and cold tone. If the words could do anything she would be frozen right now. I was not afraid of her at all. I would tell her everything I think about that way of acting but the task was more important than feelings of a mere Captain. She kept looking at us all the time. "And you?" - She said towards Velam. He was just silent all this time to avoid unnecessary arguments. "Private First Class Velam. Fifth Battalion, first heavy infantry company, second platoon." - He introduced himself, getting approve from the sour-looking Major. "Nyraewyn told then you two and you two rushed here to revenge Nyra?" - She then asked. That was it. But not for revenge we came. We came to guarantee that our friend, or well... mine. Cause Velam is another case. - Is safe. "I couldn't bear any danger awaiting for a person that is dear to me. Especially when the criminal wanders around freely." - I said keeping my tone cold and emotionless. But not because I didn't care. The presence of that woman was just making me feel like this. "She cant live like that - Everyday with fear.This man can hurt her again" - Velam then continued. I knew already that for him Nyra is more than a friend but I didn't say a thing. All I've seen that the Major was quite surprised with his words. "Fear? My gods, you ever seen her fighting? Do you know that her enemies calls her red-haired witch? No, of course you don't." - She then responded and focused more on Velam and stepped closer to him. I looked at her but said nothing. "You I get..and even you. But if you help, you must listen me." - Major then responded with a bit softer tone but I didn't trust her at all. " I can do everything if that means helping her." - I then said and she turned his gaze back at Velam. "Of course, I can give my life for her" - He then said with determination I haven't seen in him before, unless in matters that were connected to Nyra. "As can I." - I added then, nodding in agreement with him. Luciana looked at us as if she was trying to find out the reason. " Dont tell me you both love her?" - She then asked which made Velam uncomfortable deep inside. "What? Love!?" - He said without a thought. I knew that he was in love with her and I only was a friend. Deep inside I was hoping for them to get together and they had my full support. That's what brought me there alongside with my friendship with her. I wanted her to be safe and happy once again and if Velam could give that to her I hoped for the best for him as well. "I am only a friend. But friends are the most important to me. That's why I could sacrifice everything for them." - I responded to both of them at once. My intentions were not connected to love, unless the kind of love between friends was included in that.
