What a strange day this was. Lendaellin sent me to Duillond, to help Calengil collecting some herbs, and on my way there I suddenly started singing. When I saw a wolf, I just yelled at it and it disappeared into the woods. How amazing this is, having a voice. Sometimes I forgot about it and was silent - I am so much used to being silent. All the others in Duillond looked at me in disbelief when I was greeting them. What a strange thing, to go around and greet everybody.
When I came home and Lendaellin heared me singing, she acted as if she was a little huffy. She complained that she had been practising for years, but still had difficulties to sing the right notes. I saw her eyes twinkle though. She was happy for me.
I have not seen the kind elf I met yesterday. He was wearing heavy armour, he probably came from far away, and was surely involved into hard fights. Maybe he was only passing through, and now he is far, far away again. The world being so big, how shall I ever find him without even knowing his name? And why do I feel so lonely, with Lendaellin next door and all my friends close by? I took my mothers old fur coat from my chest. It was deep down at the bottom since it is far to warm here for cloakes like this one. But it makes me feel less alone, and my fingers running through the fur is something comfortingly familiar after this strange day.
