The Dance of the Four Seasons - A Poem

When flowers spring up from the ground
New life emerges all around
As wind blows gently through the trees
It's time to bend and shake those knees
In the fields, like swaying grass
Sway side to side, slowly then fast
All leap around without a care
Like blossoms floating in the air
Now get together, form a ring
It's time to do the dance of spring!

Then summer comes, the sun shines bright
Fields are painted with golden light
The night is short, the days are long
Plenty of time for dance and song
Skip through fields now lush and green
Dance by the trees and flowing streams
The flowers in bloom all smell so sweet
So dance with petals on your feet
Grab a partner and take a chance!
It's time to do the summer dance

Autumn arrives, the trees turn brown
Golden leaves float down to the ground
They crunch and crackle as you jig
So scrunch those leaves and break some twigs
Whilst farmers harvest all their crops
Dance in the fields, no time to stop
Knock fruit from trees with waving hands
And jump about them as they land
Stamp your feet like a beating drum
And do the noisy dance of Autumn

When winter comes, the land turns white
The wind it howls, the cold it bites
Shake the snowflakes out from your hair
Swing arms and legs out everywhere
In frosty fields; on icy lakes
Don't let the cold air make you shake
Spin round and round to get some heat
Skip, hop and jump on rapid feet
Running fast like hobbit sprinters
Do the speedy dance of winter

All the year there's a dance for you
Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter too!
Don't sit around and waste away
It's much better to dance all day
Under white clouds, or skies of blue
There's just one thing you need to do
Get off your chair, and on your feet
And dance your way along the street
You don't ever need a reason
Just do the dance of the four seasons!
