Captain's Quick Report: Annual Brandywine Salmon Run
Hobbits of the Shire embarked today on a short journey from the Brockenborings and through the woods to a location along the Brandywine River known for playing popular host to the Annual Brandywine Salmon Run organized each year by the Shire Angling Club.
Event organizer Miss Penina Pondhopper, and Miss Bilberri of the Club split into two groups; one leading a Juniors category for the event, the other overseeing the Seniors category. With participants lining up along the banks to practice their casting, prepare their hooks, and finally beginning the annual event with a tremendous splash of fishing poles and lines -- the third annual Brandywine salmon run took off with success!
Time seemed to pass by, and catch after catch was quickly recorded and marked down as contestants and fisher-hobbits (and a fisher-dwarf and fisher-man) continued to cast line after line into the waters. North of the location one could just make out the distant white, sandy banks of the Evendim region, and across the river from the fishing event, the landscape of Bree-land dwelled. Soon, as the final fish were caught and some released, and others kept for the later weighing, the crowd gathered around a nearby rock where catches were weighed and prizes, winners, and runner-ups were announced.
Many fireworks were lit, cheers and shouts of congratulations rendered the air from the many Hobbits and spectators as fantastic catches were displayed and weighed, and later on as the event was officially announced as being complete, and that those needing to take off have a safe journey home; cooking campfires were lit, and music, dancing, and chattering conversation filled the remainder of the night as Hobbits remarked on the fine catches, the wonderful event, and the tasty food wafting through the air.
It was a most splendid occasion as many folk might tell you, and certainly another outstanding success for the Shire Angling Club, perhaps soon there might be an official article published sometime announcing both the official categories of winners, total catches and attendees who participated, over in the Bramblebury Gazette -- but until then, attached with this early report, are numerous rough sketches and colored drawings to provide a glimpse into some of the memorable moments that arose throughout the event!

P.S.
On the immediate horizon there are event listings confirming a band known as 'Instant Play' will be playing this coming week over in the Michel Delving, outside the popular Bird and Baby Inn -- where wonderful Yard Parties are often organized. An article in the Bramblebury Gazette also confirms such news. The current editorial published in the most recent edition of the paper also mentions that with Spring upon the corner, a number of well-known events for Hobbits will likely soon be announced over the weeks as part of the seasonal traditions this time of year in the Shire.

(( Disclaimer: Hello folks, I'd like to caution you that taking a look at the embedded slideshows coming up below will likely not go too well if your in a hurry, and hoping to just get a 'general gander' at what the event was like. The 'Overview Collection' above is more suited for that!
Viewing the albums embedded below is more geared for those folks looking to get a /slightly/ more play-by-play spirit of how things unfolded. In fact, I only recommend having a browse through if for some reason, you have an urge to well... just look at a lot, a lot and lot and lot of screenshots this time around -- many more of the shot angles/perspectives being repeated in other screenshots but at different times during the event, etc! Thanks for reading. ))
