Captain's Quick Report: Brandy Badgers Public Rehearsal

A most interesting setting and choice location these Brandy Badgers did rehearse at today; Sandson's Farm in the Shire, just to the side of the largest building on the farm, where one of the large wagons was sitting, hoho!

Though time is short, and I must continue my journeys back southwards to reach Oldfurlong by the 'morrow for the coming OAKS concert.  So this report, as with many of the others I have ever written, will likely be short compared to the more full breadth of detail an official, complete report would be!

With great dancing and hobbit-like cheer did things proceed; there always appears to be such a natural flow and understanding at these hobbit-led events -- and that brings me to the songs, the lyrics they sung!  Such interesting stories amid both lively and slow-dancing tunes -- there were a few to do with the chickens and eggs, some classics to do with berries and badgers ( these were the Brandy Badgers after all hohoho! ), and even a particular song that... well, that seemed well-fitting for an inn named 'Cantina', if one exists out there in the world named such!  And while the song was quite a lively one to sway and dance to, one hobbit's remark seemed to describe the nature of the song quite perfectly;  "I heard the band that made that song only knows one song.....~Winzigbel

And the audience today!  Perhaps it was this day of week, but most folk seemed to depart rather early, and others at the beginning didn't arrive to form great numbers until a few songs had already been played.  Yet for all that, during the mid-way through the music was the crowd quite a large one, hohoho!  With the addition of the draft sketches attached to this early report, you'll perhaps see it was quite a large gathering throughout the middle of the musical rehearsal -- it was surely as good as any 'party' hobbits are dearly known for finding reason to get together for!  Deep thanks and good congratulations to a successful rehearsal and (un)official performance today, well done!  Hohoho!

I must now hurry and be on my way... Waymeet is just over the next hill, and a mailbox and Quick Post branch office should be present.  I spoke with Miss Dassa and left with a determined heart to contact our dear friend, and her married partner, Master Silon -- it has been too long since we last communicated.  I need to pen another letter also; to Master Pogodoc in response to a kindly message he wrote to me concerning a request and any known leads on several matters (*Note 1: Keepers of the Greenwood*, *Note 2: Fremen*, *Note 3: The Pipeweed and Brewers Guild*) to do with a newly formed Elderglen Residents Association.  And then there's that curious notice about dance lessons in Woodhall that piqued my interest...  I shall have to track that poster down and have a closer look sometime; though I may not be a hobbit, my timing with dancing steps could certainly use some help!

Overview Collection

Note from Naismithea: There may be more forthcoming sketches and drawings to add in another one or two albums separately, but I sadly lack the time to process them completely for submission to the Archives, just mere hours past this event's conclusion today.  When the opportunity arises, I shall seek to add another collection or two of drawings and sketches to be stored alongside the overview collection already submitted -- hopefully they'll appear below in due time.
