Mourning Loss and Cherishing Gifts Part 2

The letter which Rickstan read detailed some horrible truth's in which Rickstan was left to impart to all his loved ones. How could he live with the shame and bare the responsibility of having to face those loved ones and tell them. He couldn't even believe the words, but it was certainly his brothers hand. How could Gythleth have done this? Of all the people in the world, Rickstan never could have imagined his brother would have been a man of...Multiple tastes.

Rickstan moved outside his house again and stared down towards his brothers home, which laid just below the hill, "The Lake House". The house Gythleth had bought for him and Erimyl and their incoming child. It was another surprise for Rickstan which made him doubt the words of the letter. Gythleth details in his letter that he had to leave Bree-Land immediately with very little intention of every returning, and that he had been having an affair with a woman, a woman he did not name in the letter. But also saying that he had left the night before. Rickstan began to panic  and started to walk down the hill at a fast pace, growing closer and closer to the "Lake House". But the closer he got, the more he saw how vacant and empty the house looked, no it can not be true.

Upon reaching his brothers home, he noticed a solitary figure in white, staring at the open door to the house, her features vacant and even ghostly lost. He knew it to be Saidda the local healer, well known to the family and who was addressed to be Erimyl healer and midwife for her baby, and possibly Cedwyn's. Suddenly it struck Rickstan....

"Saidda, have you seen Gythleth?" he asked, trying to disguise he knew the truth.

Her answer was short and uncaring, but he saw that to be a disguise to her true emotions. He noted how she was staring at the house, upon which, when Rickstan looked over, saw how all the furniture inside was...Gone. It took him some more seconds to notice how a key was left uncaring on the steps. So it was true...

"So he has gone then?"

"I can only assume so" was something Saidda said, or something like it.

Rickstan couldn't withstand the pretense anymore...

"It's true, isn't it? He was having an affair...It was you wasn't it?"

Before Saidda could respond, Pup (Cisel) appeared behind them and said hello to them. But Rickstan's eyes were locked on Saidda, who took on face of shame and perhaps sadness. Suddenly, she was off, walking away, leaving Rickstan with Pup. It was clear to see that she was hurt, perhaps with the fact Gythleth had left, perhaps not telling her or taking her. Or maybe she was in love with him and she felt used, and realised she had been lied to, as things would transpire.

Rickstan detailed to Pup all that had transpired and could feel himself getting more and more upset. Pup too was visibly upset and told Rickstan it was true. Gythleth had apparently confided in her and locked her to secrecy. Gythleth had been seeing Saidda behind Erimyl's back. But not only that, but he had also being lying to them all. He would impart to Saidda and Pup that he was putting in for a legal seperaration from Erimyl, but as Rickstan had heard from his own Brother to himself, he knew that was not the case. He told Rickstan often he wanted to fix his marriage and live with his with and incoming child peacefully, that he loved her devotedly....But all the while, he was making promises to another woman.

No, this was all too much for Rickstan, he couldn't take it in. He had only just found a brother and just like that, he was gone, without a goodbye...

Rickstan did not remember the walk he made away from Gythleth's house or the moment he happened upon the group, Goldgel, Daldarac, Zuilyun, Bryse, all enjoying a campfire outside Bryse's house. The next moment he remembered was weeping with utter heartbreaks in Daldarac's arms sat on the steps to Bryse's home. Oh yes, he told them all the truth, helped by Pup (Cisel) with her knowledge of the truth.

Erimyl had to be told and they each came up with a plan on how to do so...

But for Rickstan, as he sat there, pale and broken, his eyes flung open as he realized something, something which could ruin everything for him and his wife...Gythleth was gone, but he was the legal owner to his house.......

To be continued......
