Shelter with the Dawn

So you return, are you so eager to learn of the pain caused by the twins? Or are you wishing to know if justice was served to those that had enslaved young Falra and attempted to send her to her death? You know that Falra’s love slayed one of the twins, the one to whom she bore a child to. It is the second one, the elder one, for he was born first, that took that child from her and nearly cost her, her life.  So became of this man? Did he ever show up again? These are the questions you seek an answer to, so sit and listen to my tale.

After the death of “Father” Falra fell into an everyday life with Acelin. Instead of focusing on her past, she focused on his. There were things about him that she wished to help him with. She sought out answer on her own, bringing her rooms filled with books. These she searched for references on dark magics and how to undo them. In the end, what was found, was only a glimmer of hope. But that is only a part of Falra’s tale, and one she shared with another. I must stop that part here for he never gave permission to share what transpired from her findings. In truth, I know not if his malady was ever reversed, nor what it truly was. For soon after this he vanished from Falra’s life. It happened the night he got a strange letter at their shared home. The letter simply said:

“You have what is mine, I plan to get it back. Leave now

and you will not suffer a fate which you cannot walk

                         away from.”

That night Acelin showed the letter to Falra. She knew the handwriting well, it was that of the “Master”. He had found her. Acelin bade her stay inside where it was safe, geared for a hunt, and set out to seek out the man that posed a threat to Falra. That was the last Falra had ever seen of Acelin.

After several days of waiting she risked exit of the home and sought out refuge with a friend. The refuge did not last long, she missed those she had grown attached to and soon left this person’s home and company. Returning to her small home, Falra found it gone through. Fearing the worse she instead approached a mercenary group called, “The Bloody Dawn.” She offered them wages for protection, bought a home in secret, and even hired one of their lasses to pretend to be her. The rouse worked but it brought bloodshed. This, Falra, could not allow.

She sat and planned with the group to extinguish this threat, when they went it was but part of the threat that was found. The “Master’s” men were no more, but he was nowhere to be found. A new plan was created, of course, but to no avail, it failed. What happened after that.. Ah well, you’ll have to bring me some sweets to learn that. Till next time.
