Captain's Quick Report:  Crazy Ladies at Yard Party!

Master Reader, have you ever been to a Yard Party?  Or perhaps, the weekly Bird and Baby Yard Parties?  Well, hoho!  Neither have I, until this fine night took place!

But where to begin on such a fine evening of fresh air, music, drink, food, and Crazy Ladies?  Well hah, I suppose that's where we should start eh?  An introduction to the band themselves!

The Crazy Ladies of the Forest were the Elven Ladies playing memorable song and melodies today, along with Missus Anerra too!  Though they did assure us that the name does not harken to what we might have thought implied, either of crazy, or the forest, it was all in all still a most fantastical sight, and sound, to hear such beautiful ladies engage in both lively and memorable tunes!

But alas before I get too carried away with this quick report, rather than properly saving for the full and detailed account of this event I shall publish more proper at a later date, it must be shared that in truth, perhaps about midway through the musical numbers, I had not expected too much more from the band and audience as the sun began to set, and before that, it had appeared many other hobbits of reputation such as Missus Acorne, Master Silon, and even Missus Lina had departed early, quite quietly if I might add!  Or perhaps I was once again caught up in the dancing and songs to notice, but I'm quite skilled at such things usually, I'll have you know!  Part of a Bree Captain's training to stay alert of the surroundings and going-ons immediately about, you know!

Yet despite that momentary period of doubt, it soon became apparent throughout the rest of the evening, and well into the nightly hours of dark, that the audience would not stop to let such dwindling numbers cease to stop the cheer and welcoming arms to any newcomers that happened to walk by, and indeed often end up stopping to stare, and soon enough perhaps for most of them that I can count, ended up joining us all swiftly after in the grand dancing and celebration that was the Crazy Ladies and their songs!  From song to song after the first lamps were lit and the glow of sunset faded into the starry sky which we see each night, the audience not only, which I swear by my Bree Captain's badge, did swell and grow in number towards the final end, but it was perhaps even more rousing and cheering in the latter half than I have trouble recalling of the first bits of the show, when the sun was still burning bright!

Oh, but enough writing, and dangers of over-stepping my set boundaries of what this quick report is to be.  I ended up having many drawings and colorings momentarily etched out, and many more near the end that I could manage between the clapping, cheering, and dancing.  With luck, the first batch I send with this report to the Grey Repository Archives should quickly be processed without trouble and appear immediately for those perusing this report soon, before a day or so have even passed from this event!  A second rough collection of colorings and drawings, sent in a larger post and wrapped carefully due to it's larger number of entries, should find it's way soon after.  Where the first batch should contain an early two, three, or five sketches of this event from my mind's memory, the second one should later reveal much more of the celebrations, perhaps an upward of fourscore, or even more!

I believe tonight's musical festivities is a large thanks to the Bird and Baby Yard Party organizers, including a Missus Bilbeto, and of course an outstanding congratulations as well to the Crazy Ladies of the Forest for performing such fine tunes and melodies that stirred the feet and cheering cries of the audience many times this night!

P.S.

On the horizon, I was most lucky to have obtained my own rare copy in Bree-town of the Bramblebury Gazette, containing much of this month's events pertaining to those dear halfing-folk in the Shire, but with tonight's musical party ended, I have not heard of many numerous more events, freely open to all the Free Peoples, happening for awhile.  Nothing similarly seems to be appearing on the nearest news bulletin boards for the Grey Repository just yet.  Nevertheless, I shall keep an eye out as always have I done these many recent months, and make changes to my business and schedule accordingly as new updates arise, hoho!

There have been some early word however, and gossip, what have you, that there is, this coming Sunday, an embarking of chickens (sending of chickens more precisely), and their chicken-herding escorts/farmers I suppose, to the far lands of Rivendell.  Perhaps this is a regular shipment and supply caravan of poultry that is delivered from the Shire to those woodland gorges and valleys that is the Trollshaws?  I might only continue to guess, but rumours have it that indeed, a call for help and welcome aid has been made known to any that might wish to see this caravan safely to their destination.  I have not done guard or escort duty as a Bree Captain for such an interesting endeavor before, but I do have plans to see if I might be able to lend a hand, nonetheless!

Now my copy of the Bramblebury Gazette is slightly dated and old, especially as this month's edition comes to a close and the next is soon to begin.  However, another early rumour and gossip I have heard concerning music events in the Shire does happen to be another lovely OAKS concert in Oldfurlong on the seventh day of the next month.
