To Zigilgund

A squeak escaped Cisel as she felt her body slide against the ice.  Gungur was right beside her as he tumbled across the slippery frozen surface, snow clinging to his beard.  Cisel tried to help him to his feet after his initial fall, but his clumsiness led to Cisel's downfall as a burst of laughter escaped her.  Despite the the snow that drifted across her body and on her nose, and the fact Cisel laid on her stomach with her arms and legs sprawled out, Cisel could not help but find amusement in the situation.  Even though she knew there were orcs behind them on march, and that at any moment the company could be ambushed and attacked, it didn't stop Cisel from skating around the ice outside of the small camp, or stop her from building a snowman version of her Dwarven friend.

Sunlight broke through the dancing green lights in the sky, turning the sky into a pastel arrays of morning as Fiontann's orders to pack out rang through the camp.  Cisel immediately moved to tie Mr. Mammy Wanderer to Alex before she hugged her best friend, murmuring gently to him.  She then slowly  helped pack up the camp, making sure Alex wasn't packed too heavily before she lead him behind the group.  They journeyed on through the crisp air.  Everything felt still for a bit, except for the gentle crunch of the company's footsteps.

They stopped by a waterway with the gentle stream of a waterfall, keeping the river from freezing in the cold air.  As the horses stopped to refresh themselves and the company refilled their wineskins, Cisel peered into the crisp, clean water to see the reflections of everyone around them.  It was the clearest she had ever seen water in her life, being able to see down to the sandy bottom of the small river.  Cisel could not help but think it was one of the most beautiful sights she had seen, wishing she had a way of capturing it.  But before anything came to mind, the company headed off again, towards the road to follow onward.

As the journeyed, wind picked up, making it hard for the company to see their path as they pushed through the strong storm.  As they broke through the winds, they were forced to flee a raging mammoth, finding a dwarf settlement that, with Gungur's help, they were welcomed in to rest.  And so, as the lights dance in the sky, the company rests among Dwarven hosts, waiting for day to come to see the next stages of their journey.
