Grubbs
The respectability of the Grubb family comes not from the wealth and esteem of their ancestors, like many others, but rather from their professions that have proved a valuable asset to all of the Shire. The Grubbs are not a landowning people, but generate their wealth through careers that require a considerable amount of education and training. Whilst not in possession of the vast amounts of money that other families keep tucked away, it is often said that no one handles wealth like a Grubb. As a result, it is a common sight to see Grubbs as lawyers, auctioneers and various other fields that concern the fiscal world. Perhaps the most noteworthy company to mention is Messrs Grubb, Grubb and Burrowes – who were well-regarded for the sale of property.
The Grubbs are not a particular large family, despite many of their female family marrying into other important families. It is in the town of Michel Delving within the Westfarthing where they are commonly found, but their professions often require them to travel across the Shire – but rarely on a permanent basis.
