Forochel Journal Entry 2

I awoke this morning to a crisp chill in the air. It wasn’t quite as cold as yesterday, and I decided to go hunting, as my food supply had begun to dwindle. As I moved throughout the vale, I found tracks of elk, moose, wolverines, wolves, and even some wargs. I trapped two wolverines in traps I had set, and shot a thirty-point buck, as well as an unexpected encounter with a wolf.

The buck and wolf had a reasonable amount of meat after they were skinned, and I kept the pelts from the wolverines to trade with the locals. I brought some fresh water from the lake, but boiled it anyway just to make sure it was safe. I made a stew with the meat and hot water that turned out alright, and didn’t hurt my scarred throat to badly as it went down.

I went down to a nearby settlement of Lossoth to trade my pelts for salt and other small necessities. The tribe was a reasonable people for the most part, and it seems they tame Mammoths to carry supplies, and have made boots that can glide on ice as well, that is something I must look into.
