Tongues and contracts

Several weeks have passed since the company returned from the Misty Mountains, more than half of the group that went there were awaiting for Lucifen's punishment, other less other more. Fiontann was exactly inbetween, he considered Lucifen a friend, a brother, but his behavior and problems could put the company in a dangerous situation, and they did... And because of that the company got banned and two of them lost their home, so, as a lieutenant Fion had to agree with the punishment. It would be an example after all.

Accompanied by Basaran who told him that it was time to go to the Dawnhall, Fiontann entered the structure and greeted Nimeway and Lucifen who stood there. They were talking and as Fion made his way further into the main romm he saw Hyrien and Duincerth, talking near the tables. That moment he realised what was about to happen, it was the time to punish Luc. As always he passed by the fire pit on his way to the table and poured himself a tankard of ale, slowly and discreetly he made his way to the doorcase and leaned on it, as if weaving the trap for Luc but blocking the only exit, not that it would be needed... Some moments passed and finally Hyrien came forth with a pair of hot tongs, she put it in the fire and approached Luc, asking him about what happened. Luc knew that his time had come and lost it, the only thing he could do was try to find excuses but his tongue failed him... An irony, it ran loose when it shouldn't, but when it came to defend himself it failed...

Hyrien lost her patience and ordered Fion to bring Luc close to the fireplace, he drained the tankard and left it on the chair, he clasped Luc's arm and pushed him towards it, there he pushed him on the table, making him lie on it. Hyrien grabbed Luc's chin and pressed arund his mouth as Fion gave her the now hot tongs from the fire, and took position near Luc. He glanced at those around once, Duincerth, Basaran, Vendrith and Leorthir, Nimeway left before they started, and then pressed Luc's chest to keeping him down on the table, unable to react. Hyrien managed to open his mouth and with the ht tongues she grabbed Luc's tongue and pulled it, the man was groaning from the pain, and his grunts got worse when she started chopping his tongue inside his mouth. Fion could feel his grip and pressed him down more, never taking his eyes from him, after Hyrien was done Fion dipped his handkerchief into a bowl of water and gave it to Luc to temporarily stop the bleeding, and immediately took him to the healer in the middle of the village.

From here the Misty Mountains part ends.

The days were passing and one of those that Fion travelled through Chetwood towards Bree four riders appeared from the trees, they surrounded him and slowly they were closing in on him. They were richly clad with brown and gold colored clothes and hoods on their heads to cover their faces, their steeds were black or brown. Each one got six feet away from him from all directions but not weapon was drawn, after a turn Fion saw another rider, he was clothed in the same manner and was waiting for them. As all five drew closer the man raised his hand and they stopped, Fion obeyed, since none of them took an aggressive position against him. The man who stood on the road jumped off his horse and immediately the others followed, so Fion jumped off Hedinn too. One of the riders took the man's horse's reins and soon a second one extend his arm waiting for Fion to give Hedinn's horses too, he looked at them in disbelief, then the leader nodded and spoke.

"I just want to speak business with you friend, if we sought harm we would have attacked you already."

Fion saw the reason in this and gave the reins to the man, after whispering something to Hedinn and caressing his neck to calm him.

"Let us walk!"

Was the man's response and both started walking in Chetwood, towads Northeast, their steps could be heard as they were walking on the fallen leaves of the trees, the breeze was pleasant and Chetwood seemed friendlier than other times.

"Fiontann, you are a member of the Bloody Dawn, aren't you? I a high position also." said the man.

"Indeed, I am second in command, under Captain Hyrien. What of it? Do you seek our services?" was Fiontann's reply. The man smiled, ti was obvious from his voice as he talked.

"We do. Information tell us that a band is going to set out from Angmar and we could use some more swords to push them back."

"Angmar? I won't send my men to get killed in that foul place! " was Fiontann's reply, he knew that that land is treacherous, and it already took Rossethor, though the man got lucky and returned after a year.

"Oh, no no my friend, we want to weaken them once they get out of it. We want your company to harass them till they disband or return back to their land. We can pay you very well." said the man in a calm tone, as if he was asking something usual. Fiontann pondered over that and seeing how the men were dressed, even how their horses were clad he thought that it could be done.

"Well, if no man is going to risk his life in that place I can accept that contract, we are sellswords, I won't send anyone to die for coins. Tell me more."

"That's all we know for now, we have men there informng us. Send a letter to Meluinen once you're ready for instructions, there will be a man waiting for you. And here a small payment in advance. Take care." said the man and handed Fion a pouch with thirty gold coins as they started going back. Fiontann took it, puzzled, he went on to Bree to think about the job.

After two days he made his mind, he would take the job, he informed Hyrien and after some thought they agreed. Firstly he sent Eniredir to Meluinen with a letter, informing them that they are going to do the job, secondly he found Nimeway and Luc, who wasn't eager to help him, and had her make healing salves and other potions for the pain to be ready to be packed at once. And thirdly when he got word about an important letter he took Brammy and Vendrith and hunted the brigands and the half-orcs down till he got it. Now it was Brammy's turn to get into the job, his orders were "Observe the brigand camps in th North outskirts of Bree-land, and report to me any odd movement, like contacting with Angmarim.". The plan now is in motion, more and more people are involved while he waits for the letter to be brought, Eniredir returned but with different news, they are to wait, till then Fiontann has to gather information before the strike.
