The Misty Mountains

After the year long trip to Gondor, Lucifen tried to become more involved with the Dawn. It was strange knowing that Hardoleth died in his absence, but even stranger to know that Hyrien is now in charge of the Dawn. Hyrien, the same person who first recruited him into the Dawn when he saw the poster in the streets of Bree.

As Lucifen reacquainted with many of his old friends, and even meeting a few new faces in the dawn, he had heard of a trip to the Misty Mountains that Fiontann is hosting. Eager, Lucifen found this as the perfect gateway to reunite himself fully with the Dawn.

Lucifen was no expert in packing, but he made sure to have plently of bread and water for the trip, as well as arrows. He arrived at the Dawnhall during the day the company was leaving. Already planned it out with Fiontann before, they greeted each other as brothers.

Luc kept to himself for the most part as the rest of the company showed up, many from the Dawn but a few outsiders as well. He kept an observant eye out, studying anyone he didn't recognized, but he learned little as many we're very muted.

As the time was upon them, Lucifen and the whole company got up on their horses and left. Many talked to their horses as they would to men, giving them names and having conversations with then. To Lucifen, this was strange. He never gave any of his horses names, mainly because he stole them all. He would only feed them if he needed them for transport. His famed horse, the one that died in Gondor, was a black steed with red paint on it. Even it had no name. Back then, he would treat his horses less then dirt, taking his anger out on them. But after Gondor, he changed.

The company rode on and Lucifen didn't think much, they passed through the Bree-lands and even the lonelands before something caught the attention of Luc. As they passed the bridge to the Trollshaws, the company was ambushed by a large group of Orcs.

The company took position and fought the orcs, the battle was in their favor. In total, Lucien killed eight orcs with his arrows. A tally he wore with pride for the rest of the day. Towards the end of the battle, many of the Orcs began to flee. But the part of the retreat that took Luc's curiousity by surprise was the fact they were fleeing towards the bridge behind the company. What ever caused the Orc's to flee in that direction, Lucifen never found out. But it surely must've been something terrible. Like a six foot tall hobbit.

They camped for the night beside the location of the battle, and to Lucifen's surprise, it was actually happening. He was connecting with the Dawn after his absence, he truly felt he belonged.

After a long rest, the company proceeded to continue in their journey. Not much happened that day as the comapny settled just outside of Rivendell. The only event worthy of mention is of a discussion of Elves brought up and Lucifen's Ill comment towards them. Apparently one of the company members overheard it and didn't appreciate it. Fiontann and Lucifen had a nice long talk about Elves afterwards.

When the day came and the company set foot in Rivendell, Lucifen kept control of his tongue to those who might find it awful. The lot of the company didn't agree with Lucifen's choice of attire, it being his armor for the trip. He was pushed back to changing into what ever he brought with him, which was a simple vest and trousers. He didn't really plan his packing and looked out of place in his clothing for that day.

It was outside the Hall of fire did Lucifen confront the man who didn't agree with Lucifen's views on Elves.. A man who Luc would only know as The Grey Warden. The Warden was a man who Lucifen has saw once before, but never talked with. He wasn't in the Dawn as far as Luc knows, but clearly he has some connection. The Warden warned Luc that if he ever spoke ill of the Elves once again that he would throw him off a cliff, or something like. Lucifen can't remember every bit of detail. His response was only a deviant smile and a challenge to the Warden, insisting he should attempt to fight. The Warden shook his head and left Lucifen.

After the encounter, the company proceeded to the Hall of fire where they met with the majority of the Elves allowing them access to the city. As the company danced and drank, Lucifen asked one of the Elves if he could be escorted to somewhere more isolated. Slightly curious, the Elf allowed him access to the Balcony, where Lucifen kept to himself and away from all noise and Elves. There, he would wait until they would leave.

Once the company finally left Rivendell, many interesting events happened. The company crossed a bridge where the two Rangers, The Rogue and The Warden were the last to cross because of a sparked argument between the two. Shortly afterwards, goblins and wargs attacked them. They were lead by a large fat Goblin, who Lucifen, again with pride, took the trophy kill and kept the arrow as a souvenir. It is foggy, but Lucifen is sure that the Warden threw a goblins head at him during the fight.

Afterwards, the company found safety from the blizzards of the north in a small Dwarven outpost. There, they rested. Fiontann ordered Lucifen and Brammy to accompany him outside in search of a toolbox which belonged to some dwarf. That was apparently the whole reason for the trip and Lucifen only learned about this during it. As the three searched out in the cold, they finally found it beneath some snow thanks to Fion's map. Just as they pulled it out from the cold ground, a group of warg-riders rushed in and abducted Brammy. The two returned to the outpost with the item the whole company was set off to find, but they also returned to the outpost with a new mission. To rescue Brammy.

Lucifen felt like it him at fault for losing Brammy and took it upon himself to not rest until he was rescued, which was hell. As the company searched from Brammy, the encounter a giant. Lucifen and a few other archers stood up on a cliff raining arrows at it while Fiontann lead the melee group down below. As the giant grabbed one of the archers from the cliff with it's large hand, the Warden began to climb onto it.

The Warden and Lucifen held an unspoken competition with each other, they were rivals in a sense. And due to that ideology, Lucifen wasn't going to allow the Warden to win this battle. As the giant began to slow down, Lucifen could feel the chance of killing it. But with a sudden burst of strength, the giant hit the cliff and caused Lucifen and the remaining archer to fall off.

As the Warden claimed the trophy kill, Lucifen was dealing with pain of a injured body. He was lucky he wasn't as hurt as the others, but his legs were beginning to gave way. And to add insult to injury, he lost his bow.

The company continued to search for Brammy, finding many strange things along the way (That weren't giants.). After their encounter with the giant, they met a young lass camping out in the Mountains. Lucifen can't remember her name but she was with the Warband of Rivendell. Lucifen also can't remember the Elvish name for it either. She shared her camp with the company and for that night, she saved all of us.

As they searched the next day, the found Brammy along another camp. Lucifen, with a few others, didn't think twice before running towards Brammy. But as the trap was set in motion, a large fat goblin grabbed the runners and tied them to a nearby tree before anything could be done about it. As the company soon realized it was a trap, a horde of goblins and wargs began to ambush the ones who weren't tied.

As Fion lead the group who weren't tied, Lucifen managed to reach for his hidden dagger and cut the prisoners free. They joined Fiontann in the battle as Brammy also managed to cut through his ropes and join as well. With the company reunited, they fought off the horde successfully. That is, until the leader came.

A tall orc riding upon a large warg faced off with the company. His large axe was little in comparison with the threats he gave to us, especially towards Teleyn, to which the Warden seemed quite protective of. As Lucifen and the company started their final battle, it was in the end Fiontann who slew the nemesis.

They rested well that night, with Lucifen taking watch. Lucifen was glad that Brammy was back and hasn't been harmed. It was that night which he took a long deep though of the trip, and how he viewed himself in it.

As all purpose for the trip draws to a conclusion, Fiontann and The Warden led the company back towards home. As they were nearing the exit of the Misty Mountain, the company unexpectedly met with two Elves, one of each gender. It turned out they were in the same company as the lady from before.

Lucifen originally held his tongue, but after hearing how rude the Elves were talking of the lady who saved the company that one night, he couldn't hold it any longer. The argument started from a whisper from Lucifen and ended with the Bloody Dawn being exiled from Rivendell.

Lucifen understood that he wasn't the most loveable character before, and seeing how any friends he made during the trip quickly turned on him for his actions, he could understand their hatred for him. But even pushed into the corner of guilt, his only defense would still remain as Pride, and that only got him into a deeper grave.
