The Search for Sir Damlan Sarrell. (Chapter One; Leaving Rohan.)

A thirteen year old boy walks alone in the Riddermark, the wind tearing across the unsheltered landscape to rip the hood down from his head, revealing those cold eyes, those eyes which have seen things no child should ever have to see.  There is no emotion in that face, the blank look of indifference a clear mirror of the soul.  The boy cares little for anything now, not after everything was taken from him.  of course,  there is...was... friends in Edunas, and family.  His mother fears she has lost him to the Orcs too, just as she has lost her Husband and Eldest son.

  But No.

Her second son walks still, breathes still, cares still for something far in the distance.

and her First son walks still, breathes still, cares still for something far in his distance.

both sons head north, and west.  The eldest leading, the youngest following his tracks, many leagues behind.

'tis the thought that maybe his brother might be alive that washes away the blank look on the boys face.  it is replaced by a new coldness, this one of resolve, of Determination.

It will be many years before he finds his brother.

Until he finds Damlan.
