Pudding Riot at the Dwarven Fayre

Yesterday we - the Kin ensemble, I mean - entered at the talent contest at the Dwarven Fayre in Needlehole which had really drawn a crowd and this was the first time we played formally as a group - it was for me, anyway - and there were a lot of dwarves which are huge as mountains almost and I had to be really wary of not getting entangled in their beards and all the other contestants did music too except for one reckless hobbit who did a suicidal stunt and he really should have known better although he did win second prize which only goes to show that Dwarves have a different sense of humour from hobbits and we got to play first and it went well except I fumbled once or twice and me and Flinda were so nervous but anyway I couldn't help myself telling the audience we call the band Pudding Riot as that is a good name because it's funny and the best any of us have come up with so far even if I say so myself and it seemed the others liked the name too, oh and we had been working on a name with Food in it and come up with lots such as Black Salad, Grateful Pie-something, Mothers of Indigestion, Food Fighters (another good one), Cream (but that was already taken) and the Rolling Scones but really what we play is not very riotuos - I'm not complaining about that as I don't know how to direct an ensemble - anyway the Badgers took First Prize and well-deserved I think, such showhobbitship, and who cares about prizes, it's all about having a good time but perhaps in time we could have dancers or acrobats to supplement the music but that would mean the troupe would have to be expanded and also maybe the act could be tightened up a bit though I'm not going to be seen dressed identically to the other ladies but might agree to colour-coordinating and then the lads could be uniformed (but there's only one lad in the band, so noone would notice) and last but not least I had a great time although I do get confused in such a big crowd and I'm really looking forward to perform again but perhaps we should rehearse some more before that.
