... I find myself in a rough countryside - leaving the foot of Amon Sûl behind me, crossing a swift-flowing stream, I let Carnirocco* climb the steep hills. It seems the surrounding area is infested by Orc bands; the Dúnedan was right. Shortly after noon I encounter a group of Men camping by a hill, without much shelter in this barren land. They are quite amazed at my arrival, not only because they are unaccustomed to Eldar, but also because they tell me that the 'Midgewater' as is their name for the stream, has seen an incursion of a wolfpack, which they have been tracking for days.
Leaving the Men to their business, I move on further up the hills - and as the gloaming approaches I have an evergrowing sense of evil beings - and so, the presence of Orcs is apparrent even as I see the fires by the ruins of Ost Alagos†. It is evident that my journey must be swift and stealthy to avoid arrousing the Orc sentinels.

Riding silently and swiftly, as is the capacity of my steed, I come at last to the shores of Nen Harn‡; that indeed is a sight to behold! Not often does my eyes see fresh water stretching out as far and fair as Nen Harn!
I make camp by the lake, in the shadow of a great rock - The rest is short, and ere dawn I prepare to move on, albeit the beauty of the foredawn is not lost upon me.
