Ruadan opened the letter which had come to him from the Lady Elisbeth in Rivendell. As he unfolded the paper his eyes first noted the very elegant flowing script written in westron. Although he spoke Sindarin to some level he had never gotten used to reading or writing the language of the elves.
He smiled as he read the opening greeting remembering fondly the vale of the elves where he always found peace, it had been many years since he had been called back to Rivendell. The letter was asking him to seek one of the members of the Warband of Imladris who was due to arrive in Breeland soon. She had been advised to seek Ruadan out in Bree and so he should expect to see her searching for him. The woman in question was known as Killandra, first daughter of the Greymare family. Her father Donhelm Greymare was known to Ruadan, and most of Bree. He was the head of a notable family of Rohan who many years ago had left their own lands to settle in Breeland.
Ruadan read the letter a second time to ensure he had understood all that was written therein before placing it onto the burning embers of the fire in the Mess Hall.
