- 8 - Almost failure at the Ruins
- TA 3018 - Hookworth -
Though few we could not wait any longer..
This evening we left to take on the small ruin, infested with orcs and other filth.
By the use of darkness we managed to sneak in, killing a few guards as we moved closer to the insides of the walls..
We found the box with surprising ease.. It felt too easy..
We managed to capture one of the orcs to question him, and to get him to point out the leader.
Again... his cooperation felt to be obtained a little too easy as well..
He took us to the leader, Gazburz..
Of course it was an ambush.. We smelled it a long way.
After fighting off a few of the wretched leaders minions, we managed to wound the leader and retrieve the key from a chain around his neck.
More of the enemy were pouring into the ruin, and before we could manage to deal with the leader - we had to flee..
Again - to our frustration - we found ourselves bound for Bree - running with our tails between our legs to seek more of our companions..
In the backrooms of the Prancing Pony we opened the box..
Inside it we found a similar insignia as Arangilas had once found in the old burnt down headquarters - before we had relocated to Hookworth.
Along with it was a new note..
The Riddle of Nen Harn:
~ Do you like turtles? If yes, so do I..
Go east to Nen Harn, I tell no lie.
In the water, a pillar of stone.
A limpy one wanders, left and alone.. ~
