Dunnok

Dunnok II Shimmerbeard
| Name | Dunnok |
|---|---|
| Status | Active |
| Occupation | Jeweller, Retired warrior/guardsman of Erebor |
| Age | Very old |
| Race | Dwarf |
|---|---|
| Residence | Dwelling in Erebor, second, smaller house in the Blue Mountains |
| Kinship |
| Outward Appearance | Snow-white, very long beard that has been braided from the tip into a tidy entirety covers his chin, in contrast to his shiny, completely bald head. His scalp is covered in many tattoos, carrying several Dwarf-runes. His face is covered in many wrinkles and lines, even a few burns are visible amongst them - caused by dragon-fire, perhaps?
He has a rather large nose. His eye is grey-bluish, as due to a past accident he lost his left eye. For a while he was seen with an eyepatch, but has replaced it with a shiny, silvery fake eye - is it of metal or gem? Above his eyes you find a set of thick, white eyebrows, left one split by a scar. His build is robust, although his age has taken its toll.
His voice sounds rough, yet pleasant to most of people. You might notice that his breath has a distinctive hint of pipe-weed.
He tends to wear practical yet sturdy clothes these days, as opposed to his usage of heavier gear in his younger years. He has a tendency of using one of his hand axes as a walking stick to ease his often sore legs. |

Background
Born many years ago in the Lonely Mountain, he was only a young dwarf when Smaug attacked. He, like many of his kin, moved to the Iron Hills. There he lived training to be a warrior like his forefathers.
He got his first experience in warfare when dwarves were called from every House to join in the War of the Dwarves and Orcs. Many of his friends perished in the seven-year war, which ended in the Battle of Azanulbizar. After the dwarves' bitter victory he returned to the Iron Hills and continued his craftsmanship with jewellery, as well as his duties in Lord Dáin's troops. He got married later and soon became father of Gungur.
He trained his son in arms and lived in peace crafting, although he yearned his old home in Erebor. He was ready to retire and focus only on jewellery when news arrived that Thorin required aid in the Lonely Mountain. Dáin Ironfoot, Thorin's cousin, gathered an army of dwarves and so both Dunnok and Gungur joined the Battle of Five Armies. After their victory he moved back to Erebor and retired with the intention of spending the rest of his life crafting.
Years later, as an old dwarf, he has now retired of his guarding duties, focusing on his jewelry these days. Due to his age he rarely leaves Erebor, but if required, he travels only with the company of a large caravan. Reasons for travelling would more than likely be to make a profit of his craft.
