The Elda has the look of a Ñoldo about her, with her bright silver eyes, shining like distant stars, her pale, distinct features, and her unusual copper hair. The light in the room seems to treat her like a friend, shining around her and being tossed and reflected by her fire-like hair. An air of quiet wisdom and ancient joy rests on her countenance, and despite her bright appearance, she is quiet and seems almost shy. Yet she holds her head high without pride, and smiles brightly without flippancy. |

Background

(Art by Aurandel.)
Little is known about Airingil. She recounts many a tale that reach far back into the ages with a certainty that betrays her years to be among the first who beheld the stars, and as having been instructed in the teachings of the Valar. Yet despite her having witnessed so much, she is unfamiliar to most, as though she lived and watched both the sorrow and joy of the Elder Days from a distance, unhindered by the weight of her long memory. She keeps to herself, traveling abroad with Aurandel, but less often with him to more populated areas. But when she does, she can be seen with her arm locked in his, close to his shoulder, speaking little to any beside him. Until a joyous converse finds her, or one with the shadow of despair. For her desire is to lead all to hope, and to kindle the hearts of those who stay true to the light.
She loves the songs of the sea and the wind in the trees, of birds and beasts, of life of plant and Child, and will speak of them as if they had words that she could hear and understand. She is learned, knowing many tongues, though with less detail and passion than her husband. She recounts history with ease, and she delights in the crafts and cultures of the Free Peoples. She strives to find the best in any situation, but she is not unfeeling to those who have lost something to the Marring. She finds joy in the "Lore of Light", philosophies and theories held dear to the Elves, those who beheld the Trees in especial. Despite this, she does not appear scholarly, lacking the expected heavy disposition and solemnity of most who dedicate their lives to learning. She is light, and elegant, and loves the simple things in life as much as the deep and intricate in a strange way, as if she does not distinguish one from the other. She treats life like a story, one with a guaranteed ending of happiness and sometimes distractedly speaks of it like she believes she knows the outcome of all of it.
