Hundaquildo is an ellon who would be immediately identifiable as a High Elf due to the Light of the Trees glimmering in his eyes and upon his fair face. His hair is a deep black, often pulled into a ponytail that travels along his spine to the middle of his back and held in place by a brilliantly jeweled clasp. His eyes are a gray like that of thunderclouds, though in the light they may seen nearly silver. His frame is wiry, yet he carries his shield and his spear with frightening ease, and his feet may carry him across the fields as swiftly as any deer.

He is nearly always seen in armor when out in public, for he rarely takes it off. Pale colors like grays or silvers or even off-whites, and sometimes blues, seem to suit his fancy the most. However, when he takes off his gauntlets, a band of gold upon the index finger of his right hand is visible, polished immaculately.

Almost as rare are his smiles. Quiet and serious he often is, and whenever his serious expression is pulled into something like a smile, one is always struck with the impression that he is unused to such an action, as if he has forgotten how to smile or has not done it in a long time. Usually it is his eyes that smile and speak of his warmth, while his face does not unless speaking to his wife.

Background

Hunda-: "calm"
Quildo: "thunder"

Raudnucal (S.): "Metal under light"

Born in the light of the Two Trees, Hundaquildo lived in the fair city of Tirion among his Noldor peers. He enjoyed his days bathing in the light and bliss of Valinor and was known for his quiet and serious temperament from whence his name came. With Melkor's theft of the Silmarils and the death of Finwë, Hundaquildo picked up his spear in grief and joined Fingolfin's host.

He stained the docks of Alqualondë with Telerin blood. He crossed the Ice in pain, in hunger, in sadness, burning for vengeance against the Dark Lord.

For the First Age he served under Fingolfin until the his death at the hands of Morgoth, and then Fingon, outliving many of his kings. Each death was a new grief upon him, while his need for vengeance became deeper.

Until the Valar came, and the War of Wrath threw the Enemy down at last, and the Silmarils which rightly belonged to the Noldor were taken away, and another lost forever to the sky. Hundaquildo raged at this. and everything he and his people lost seemed to be so meaningless, so many centuries of grief and loss all for nothing. His spirit broke and he fled the shores of Beleriand, not to the Blessed Lands which had snatched away his revenge, but to Middle-Earth, to Eregion, where he dwelt in his bitterness and grief.

Little brought him happiness, and he spent many of the days satisfying his natural curiosity by watching the smiths at work when he was not patrolling the lands, or spending his time in the moonlit forests, deep in thought and turmoil. It was during this time his epessë was given to him by the elves of Eregion, as he never removed his gleaming armor and they joked they could always see him coming.

Upon these contemplative walks he met his happiness again. Almanulde, an elleth who looked upon him with wonder and listened to the tales of a sad, bitter warrior, and made him smile again. He married her in Eregion, and his happiness returned to him at last. But then when Annatar's treachery was revealed and Sauron came in force to Eregion, they had to flee to Imladris. Hundaquildo did his part, assisting the forces of Elrond with the escape of the fleeing refugees, and taking residence in Imladris, where he now dwells with his wife and picks up his spear again, to fight Sauron's forces.
