Kabe has returned to Bree! My heart was full of joy, I couldn't quite believe my eyes when I saw him in the Pony. He seemed just as happy to see me as I was to see him. He says that he's won over a big job, or something, and that we won't have to worry about anything for at least a little while. I do hope not, I told him that I'd give up my work and find something more proper, because I do want to have a happier life. I'm glad that crazy girl didn't succeed in running him off, I just hope we don't run into her in Bree anytime soon. She'd probably claw my eyes out, as unstable as she is.
He came and brought all the children gifts, and they loved him, just as I knew they would. Sorrel is still a bit afraid, but she's afraid of anyone who isn't family. She's still quite sickly, and her cough is still worrisome, but she can at least move around the house and play with the others. She gets tired quicker than they do, but I'm relieved to see she can run along with Sage now.
I've already started looking for better work. I do make some coin at the Inn, but I'm looking to find something a bit better-paying. As much as I hate my job, it did pay me well enough to keep them all fed, and I can't go to something that pays significantly less. I feel like there's always shopkeepers and such looking for helpers though, so I ain't too worried about finding something decent.
