Cinder has medium-length bright orange hair that often sets her apart from others in Bree, despite her Bree-ish accent. She's not a particularly tall woman, standing only at about five feet and six inches, give or take a bit. Her cheeks and nose are peppered with freckles and she has large pale green eyes.

She has an athletic and toned build, broad shoulders, and wide hips with large thighs and calves. Cinder's quick on her feet but doesn't look like she would be, she's not particularly lithe or thin.

Background

A young man by the name of Edwin fled Lake Town when he was a boy no older than sixteen. By joining various caravans and groups traveling the roads, he stayed safe and was able to make his way to Bree with a hefty chunk of stolen coin. Calling himself Edward Jacobson instead, he named himself a sellsword of Dale and made coin by doing odd jobs here and there that were offered to him for the right price.

Meeting Amelia Blackwood wasn't a romantic or sappy tale, he didn't fall head over heels for her and they weren't immediately married and they didn't live happily ever after. When Amelia got pregnant, Edwin did not stay around. He left Bree just as quickly as he had fled from Dale. Having already squandered away all of his stolen fortunes, Edwin ran into the Blackwolds in Chetwood, looking to join ranks.

It was the last time Amelia Blackwood would ever see Edwin. She named her child Cinder for her fiery red hair. Amelia was quickly married to a local blacksmith named Redmond, who for some reason could not have children of his own, and thus was more than happy to take Cinder under his wing as his own child. Though the marriage started off as a move to protect the Blackwood family reputation, Amelia and Redmond fell madly in love with each other.

And so Cinder was raised in a home where she was loved and doted upon, her parents raining affection and love on her from the moment she opened her eyes. She never knew anything different and though Amelia made sure that Cinder knew that she was the blood of Dale with another father somewhere, she never considered Edwin to mean anything to her. Her mother came from a wealthy family and Cinder had a very comfortable childhood in Bree, never having any siblings but having plenty of friends around her age.

When she was older, she received news of Edwin's death after the attack on Archet, though Cinder did not mourn him. On the contrary, she felt free of the binds that held her to an invisible family. As the years passed, Cinder would find herself yearning to learn more about the life she could've had if things had been different, and barely over the age that Edwin had been when he first set out on his journey, she traveled to Lake Town to see where he was from and if she had family there.

She didn't stay for very long and she did not find any of her father's family there, though there were rumors of an Edwin who had been disowned for his dishonorable deeds, who had fled Dale. Cinder remained there for nearly a year, but she would eventually find her way back to Bree where her family waited for her.
