Background
Lhachiel (Sindarin: Daughter of the Leaping Flame)
Lhachiel was born in the Emyn Uial.
After her mother died from a fever, Lhachiel's grief stricken father could not bear the thought of leaving his only child in the care of others. He therefore took his daughter with him into the wild.
Lhachiel grew up playing around the campfire, accompanying her father on every hunt and patrol. They came to aid those guarding the borders of the Shire, and her father taught her to fight and to survive in the wilderness. They came to form a strong team.
During a skirmish with brigands her father ended taken captive. Lhachiel sustained serious injuries, yet managed to escape.
Hindered by her wounds, she was unable to immediately set out to try free her father, a delay which proved tragic. By the time Lhachiel was able to hunt down the brigands, she found the trail had gone cold, aided by darker foes, it appeared.
Lhachiel feels that she let her father down, even though it was not her fault.
It is unclear whether her father is still alive, but she clings to hope and is determined to find him.
Quote of her father: "The blood of our kin is not yet fully spent, and what remains, we must spill in defense against the shadow."
Personality:
Friendly but withdrawn. Having grown up very isolated, not even the company of fellow Dúnedain seems overly comfortable to Lhachiel. Being a woman, even though she is of pure blood, disqualifies her in the eyes of most as an effective warrior, a fact which carries upset for Lhachiel, aiding her unwillingness to open up to strangers. She looks upon it that it was not her choice to grow up wielding a weapon from the earliest age, that she was never educated in the ways of her kin's womenfolk, and that the task of earning respect as a watcher has been made all the more strenuous for her, having been born as a daughter. She holds no view as such that women in general should fight, she sees reason in that most women must tend to child bearing, but her life clearly never resembled that of other women, and she feels this should be understood by others without her having to endlessly prove herself over and over again.
Focused, serious and without frill, only speaks what is needed.
