Salgalin Valantris is an old yet imposing figure among the Dwarves. Considered tall among his kind, he also appears to be stocky in build, remaining so even in his old age. The most noticeable feature is his long grey beard and hair, which sometimes appears to be white or silver. It is clear that much care is taken by Salgalin in keeping his beard brushed, for it is appears smooth and tidy. Long even among the Dwarves, Salgalin’s beard is instantly recognisable. Bushy white eyebrows bridge over his dark green eyes, which remain keen and perceptive despite their many years of good use. His skin is darker than most, which is normally attributed to the fact that he spends more time above ground than many Dwarves.

Salgalin’s attire does not seem to reflect his noble status. Whilst many dwarf-lords dress themselves with the finest fabrics and precious metal adornments, Salgalin’s clothing consists mainly of soft dusty robes. Although dull in appearance, they are considered warm and comfortable for one who spends much time either travelling or studying. His voice, though eloquent, has become increasingly croaky and deep in his later years. Salgalin bears unusual scars over each eye, and it is unknown to most how he came by them.
