| Outward Appearance | Naegilrond can be recognised by his very tall build, about 7.2 feet tall, with that typical slender elf body. As most elves, his grace and elegance can be seen in all his movements. Being a warrior his entire life, this elegance and grace is even more clear to see. Yet it adds another thing to it as well: it signs others he is not an elf to mock with, for it may be the last thing you'll ever do. Luckily for you, he has a very kind and friendly personality and he will never harm anyone of the Free Peoples on purpose. Naegilrond is one of those elves that see Middle-Earth as a beautiful place, a place of peace. And that is why he thinks preserving this beauty is worth fighting for.

Background
Naegilrond was born in the year 2000 of the Second Age, in an Elven noble family of little importance. Being a descendant of the Noldor, his family came from Valinor to Middle-Earth with the sons of Fëanor. After hundreds of years, they settled down in the region Forlindon with many others of their kin, for they did not wish to return yet to the lands overseas...
Only once since they settled in Forlindon, did his family mingle with one of the Laiquendi. They lived in peace and harmony, gaining more renown throughout the ages by their deeds, especially in the War between the Elves and Sauron, where he nearly managed to capture Mithlond. There his elder brother showed his qualities as a warrior, in such a way that he was given a position as captain of an Elven company. Though not that large, he was as proud as he could be, along with his family.
Naegilrond was born the second son in the family. He enjoyed a very proper education in the Elven arts, but excelled most in his skills with a blade. His qualities didn't go unnoticed by his father, who wanted him to join the Elvish armies, as the threat of Sauron was never far away. A bit eager and still a young Elf, he joined the host of the last High King of the Noldor, Gil-Galad. Working his way up from a mere foot soldier to the rank of knight, he managed to join his brother's company. And then the call to arms came...
When the Last Alliance was formed, the greatest host of Elves, Men and Dwarves left to meet the armies of Sauron one final time. Naegilrond left Mithlond together with his brother and his Elven warriors. They fought side by side in the Battle of Dagorlad and the Siege of Barad Dûr, but alas, they too were not spared from grief...
During the Siege of Barad Dûr, his brother and most of his band got killed by the attacking orcs. Devastated by this loss, Naegilrond became a grim personality, his mind clouded by grief. If not for Amarthaniel, Naegilrond would have perished from the grief and pain for the loss of his brother. They held contact for a very long time, staying very good friends. She hoped for that something more than just friendship, but Naegilrond was still blinded by his sorrow.
So he lived in Forlindon for some centuries, until finally, she came to the refuge once more. She made him wake up from his state, making him realise that he could not continue like this. She made him realise again how beautiful Middle-Earth was and how peaceful it could be. And most of all, she made him realise that he loved her most of all things. They soon after bonded each other, though their bond remained one without children, until recently. Naegilrond, even though he does not like the idea of his child growing up in this still dangerous world, he became father of a healthy daughter, Niëninquiel. (This is to be situated after the following events though!)
Again, ages past, ages where Naegilrond and his younger sister, who was born a bit after the Last Alliance and their war against Sauron, enhanced their skills, being mentored by their parents. Naegilrond did however start to leave his refuge more often, to travel to Meluinen or Imladris, or even futher. Whenever he left, it was with the intention to aid wherever his sword would be needed, which eventually made him one of the protectors of Meluinen, a secret Elven refuge in the North Downs.
Until the war with Angmar began... Both he and his sister, along with their father, were called upon by their lord, Círdan, to reinforce his army with the warriors of their refuge. A hundred Elves, armed with their superior elvish weapons and armed with mail and leather armour, left their palace... It was a fierce battle they fought alongside the last armies of Arnor, but the combined armies of Elves and Men defeated Angmar. With surprisingly few losses in the refuge's ranks, they returned home, in the hope that the fighting would finally have ended. Alas, it wasn't...
The last battle against the forces of Angmar took place at the Battle of Fornost, in the year 1975 of the Third Age. One last time, Círdan gathered his army and moved eastwards, to aid the Kingdom of Arnor. Or what was left of it... It seemed that the warriors of Naegilrond's house didn't have as much luck as the previous battle against Angmar. From the 130 elven warriors they brought, only 50 returned home again. Never the less, Angmar was destroyed and peace would finally return to the lands of Eriador.
The ages passed in peace, while Naegilrond enjoyed the calmth and the presense of his wife. They travelled a lot, to Rivendell and even Lorien. But suddenly, a message from lord Elrond came. Wondering why lord Elrond took interest in his family, he informed his father of the message. He already knew it of course... Naegilrond was to educate a Dunedain that was travelling to Forlindon at that very same moment. It was a quite obvious choice to pick his refuge, for Naegilrond and his family have always been very kind and helpful to the kin of the Dunedain. For several decades, he taught Angelnarth how to wield a sword and bow, how to write, how to sing, how to survive in the wild and how to blend in with the shadows. And it was during these long years Naegilrond found himself a true friend in Angelnarth. The two understood each other, without the need of speaking one word. Of course Naegilrond was sad to see his friend leave finally. But then again, what could he do about it?
Naegilrond has always had this never fading inner light of hope, a light that manages to guide him through the most darkest of times, since Amarthaniel and he decided to share their life in Middle-Earth together. This belief that peace and joy will once return to Middle-Earth, only grew stronger when his wife gave birth to his beautiful daughter, his flower, Niëninquiel, so much even that he decided to take up arms again, to fight for this Middle-Earth freed from darkness. He believes that his daughter and wife, along with all others of his kin and eventually all other races, deserve to live in peace for once and for all, which strengthens his will to fight even more. So much even, that he would go to Orodruin itself if needed...
