Sogadan, Vintner of Rivendell
Proprietor of an extensive wine collection which ranks amongst the first in Middle-earth.
The Last Homely House, Rivendell
A neat elf of fastidious manners and quiet dignity who was not bred up to any martial profession, preferring to remain at his own fireside and in his own house. Now the roof of the Last Homely House shelters him. He is not a warrior, nor is he learned in lore, but nevertheless, he is considered a figure of some importance, for he has rendered many small services to weary travelers and the folk of Lord Elrond, and keeps the Last Homely House comfortably supplied with the finest of wines. His knowledge of their flavours and strengths is perfect; he is adept at accommodating his various and choosy customers, and he is very careful in the measurement and pouring out: by his careful attention and frequent plying of the bottle, Sogadan has amassed a large fortune, and obtains useful and often interesting information during his clientele’s visits to the Hall of Fire.
Sogadan has many friends throughout Rivendell and beyond.
A goodly, tidy house where there are not too many Vintners in the trade.
Uncouth, rude folk. Shufflers and lay-abouts who will not pay their wine bill. Customers who slight his goods and undervalue them, or endeavor to convince him that his prices are too high.
Occupied with golden dreams in the Hall of Fire.
