Journal the Ninth - Chair

What kind of Adventure is this?:
Diary

I have taken up residence in the chair in the hallway. I remember that I used to spend much time here, finding it quieter and more peaceful than all the commotion in the common room and indeed it feels right to be seated in this place.

Chronicles of Gwenbur: Entry 15

I have not heard from Baedwulf or father in a long time. What little family I have here in Eriador, I never seem to see. If only I could receive a letter, or something... just any indication that they are alright.

Baedwulf's horse is now in my care. Abrianna, a rather kind lady I met in the tavern, informed me she knows my uncle and that she was looking after his horse. She asked if I could take it off her hands, which I have. Where has my uncle gone? Why has he left his steed?

I cannot help but think something has happened.

I cannot help but worry.

I left Far Chetwood yesterday. I had no wish to, but I know that my return to Bree was necessary.

I came within sight of the great hedge wall and almost lost my nerve. Seeing them again, expecting the worst, knowing that I must make ammends and yet being uncertain as to why; it is all overwhelming and very intimidating. I stood there for a goodly while, just staring. I almost turned back.

This afternoon I took the bindings from the raven's wing. I smiled as he stretched it out and found myself filled with a mixture of satisfaction and sadness as I watched Quoth Nevermore fly away. I am alone again and I shall miss the companionship, even if he is just a bird. Still, I am glad that he is well and can return to doing that which birds do.

I arrived in my past yesterday evening. Too tired from the long walk to write, I did not even bother to set up a camp before I nestled down atop the old rock to sleep.

The way back has been surprisingly easy. It occurs to me that perhaps all the roving warriors and warbands are serving their purpose rather well if is so quiet along the roads these days. Aside from once or twice when I was forced to run and hide after being spotted by a half-orc or an angry boar, it was a wonderfully quiet journey.
