Forochel! We are finally here! We stand on a silvery field of ice and wherever I look there is nothing but snow and the vast, ageless sea that continues forever and ever. This is north! And I love it!
What an amazing journey it was to get here through that icy canyon, I remember but the greyish blue walls standing around us utterly impenetrable, ready to face whatever challenge yet to come; and the sounds of ice and wind, all that moaning, cracking and rustling, as if those walls were a living, breathing thing
And the snow, tons of it, white, grey, blue, sparkling, like hundreds of stars had been shattered into little peaces that continued their gleaming all around us, giving light to the dimness of the canyon
It seemed to go on forever, I remember the air getting colder every minute, our breath turning into white clouds
And then, right out of blue, the canyon ended and the sky emerged
… I have never seen anything like that ...
As the sky was full of light, different kinds, long, wide threads of colors moving slowly, calmly over the emptiness of space, changing their shape according to some ancient rhythm that guided their path in the darkness. So beautiful, so
And we slayed.
The beasts. That were waiting for us in the entrance. To get us. Again. Well they did not.
My dagger is perfectly fine.
We are in north.

Today we saw a mammoth! It must be the biggest thing in the whole world, I think the earth trembled a little when it passed us in that majestic manner, it felt as if we were but little mice looking at a giant, ha, that was refreshing!
Ah, these icy fields seem to go on forever, so hard to think that anything or anybody could actually live here, and yet there are places full of people and warmth and such, scattered around these hills of ice, ready to survive and manage against the cold and all that follows
And the animals. We have seen the smallest of them all to live in peace, the squirrels and foxes outlive without hesitation here where us humans are having problems in surviving even on daily basis, how sweet, how reassuring that is!
But no birds, no sounds of bird singing, I just discovered that when he asked me to stop and listen. No humming, no chirping, and still the air is full of the sounds of ice and snow and occasional roars, as the beasts confront each other, confront the people, us
