Event details:
*
A company of Elves passing at night through the woods of the Shire on their way to the White Towers and further west to Lindon, visiting their friends and kin there and/or accompanying those leaving Middle-earth. They use seldom trodden paths, singing as they go and praising the stars of Elbereth Gilthoniel.

Fanuilos heryn aglar!
Rîn athar annún-aearath,
Calad ammen i reniar
Mi 'aladhremmin ennorath!

A Elbereth Gilthoniel!
I chîn a thûl lin míriel
Fanuilos le linnathon
Ne ndor haer thar i aearon!

A elin na gaim eglerib
Ned în ben-anor trerennin
Si silivrin ne pherth 'waewib
Cenim lyth thílyn thuiennin!

A Elbereth Gilthoniel!
Men echenim sí derthiel
Ne chaered hen nu 'aladhath
Ngilith or annún-aearath.

OOC details:

As one can read in the books, Elves passed through the Shire on their way to their havens along the Gulf of Lhun, whence they took ship and sailed away to Valinor and never returned to Middle-earth. Yet, this was not the only reason of their travel thither. It is reasonable that some traveled to Lindon to see their friends and there stay for a while as guests. Many of the surviving Elves of drowned Beleriand settled in that land, and though they were fewer by the Third Age, a number of them (at least enough for role players) still lingered there. A remnant of Falathrim, Noldor, and Sindar and surviving Laiquendi.                                                                                                       Also, it is conceivable that the Exiles would at times visit the shores of the sea to soothe their longing for the Blessed Realm; for the Eldar believed that in the water there lived yet the echoe of the Music of the Ainur more than in any substance else that was in Earth.                                    Furthermore, as some may remember, Wandering Companies of Elves (one such company, was led by Gildor Inglorion) made pilgrimages to the Towers to see the Elostirion-Stone which alone of the palantiri was so made as to look out only west over the Sea. Therefore the High-Elves (such as did not dwell in or near the Havens) when the yearning of exile was upon them, journeyed to the Tower Hills at intervals to look afar at Eressëa and the Shores of Valinor, close to which it lay. On such visits they were sometimes rewarded by a vision, clear but remote, of Elbereth, as a majestic figure, shining white, standing upon the mountain Oilosse.

Though Lindon and Mithlond are not yet in-game, the information above has been shared here as it is related to this event, and moreover to gladly help less-learned Elf-role players in this way-by sharing lore-based reasons which they can use for their Elf-characters that travel to those lands.

Further Information

Here the event will start (but IC that is where this company continues from; for Elves do not live in the Shire but travel through it out of their own lands).

At the Abandoned Elf-camp is the time for speech and merriment! Let your characters burst into song when Menelgavor, the Swordsman of the Sky leaps up and climbs over the rim of the world. Sit upon the grass around the wood-fire in the middle and start eating and drinking and talking with delight.

Celondim, the journey's end for this wandering Elf-company.
