Dear Diary
It has been long since last I wrote.
So long since last I saw any familiar faces.
I have been searching answers to why my father never told me or my sister about his bloodline. Why keep it hidden?
I left Bree behind me without telling anyone about my plans or whereabouts.
All I had with me was some provisions, my horse and a small pouch of money in case I would need it if I were to pass by a town.
Never did I believe this was the journey I would be heading out for. Or even to indulge myself into.
But this was about me, my sister and my parents. For so long has my sister been trying to find out about our family alone. Now it was my turn to do something and not sit idly by in her shadow and wait for her return.
Never did I expect it to be like this. I did expect some difficulties, even danger.
I started my journey with visiting my parents in Minas Tirith. Trying to get an answer from my father but as I expected, I got none. At this moment I was sure even a stone wall would be more talkative than my father.
After getting no results from my father or my mother I decided to try investigate the archives under the names I were given from my sister.
Even the archives were as mute as my parents. Still a flicker of hope remained for me as one of the old men in the archives mentioned another archive that no one really visited anymore. I guessed he ment the archive that my sister visited and again, I left the town without a single word.
Not that I got very far until I got ambushed by lowely thugs. The shame. I have never considered myself as good a fighter as my sister but never have I been ambushed before and beaten. My horse ran in the middle of the fighting straight off into the horizon and left me there, the coward.
They tied me up and placed me on the cold ground, took my belongings and provisions and then discussed what to do with me. One suggested to sell me because of my pretty face, never have I cursed my looks more than I did that day. Two others argued that I was too fierce to be sold and wanted to just leave me to rot. Their bickering stopped there as the leader of their foul pack said to set camp. A rather short, stout and not very pleasent smelling man. For a while they ignored me as I in silence watched them and I felt the night creep in as the chilly winds blew. Right in front of me, they set up their fire and helped themselves to my provisions to fill their empty stomachs.
As morning came back I realized I had slumberd in the cold night and woke up by the leader giving me a slap in the face along with his raspy voice telling me to wake up. He and his men had already packed their horses and were ready to leave. The same thug from the other day again suggested to sell me and the leader seemed to think about it and then shoke his head while telling his men to mount up and leave. He untied my feet and gave me a foul almost toothless smirk as he sadi "I think you can walk home with only the feet untied, can't you, cutie?" In frustration and anger I spat right into his face which only made him angry in return and hit me with his fist so hard I fell sideways onto the ground and I stayed there not moving at all with the aching jaw.
After I became alone I slowly struggled up on my feet and started walking, cursing myself for being stripped of everything, even my hidden daggers.Seems I need new hiding places for them in the future.
What seemed like ages of walking I found the coward, my horse. Still a blessing to see as he still had his saddle on and I had a spare knife in there, it was ment for bread but it works for tied hands as well.
Without any provisions and other belongings I decided it was best to travel back to Minas Tirith and leave the search for another time, having to accept my defeat this round.
I stayed at a friends place for a while, recovering from the cold journey and got persuaded to return to Bree.
So here I am, back in Bree. I did not miss the place. Though some of the people here is a reason to come back to. People I trust, people that trust me. My sister, which will most likely scold me and beat some sense into me once I see her again.
