Lord Gildor Inglorion,
At your behest the Laiquendi have dispatched a group of scouts to the North Downs. One such group patrolled the Road leading to Fornost and has discovered a young woman lying injured by the road. We treated her and left her in the care of a Dúnadan for the time being and set out to track the creature who did this. To our surprise, we discovered what appeared to be small footprints and Boar-hide Dunlending-make cloth. I sent scout Idhran to patrol the area while I treated the woman on the spot (She had several gashes on her arms and she had her finger cut off, poor child), and she found the woman's discarded sword, a few drops of blood, and more Dunlending cloth. We suspect it was a Southern woman who did this. We tried to track the trail, however, we were unfortunately intercepted by rain and were forced to turn back.
We have heard rumours of a mysterious menacing shadow stalking the fields, and we fear this may be her doing. If this is the case then we must track the creature down and put an end to her before she leaves the Borders of Fornost undetected and finds her way to civilized lands.
I will give my next status report as soon as we gather enough of our number for a scouting mission.
Daerundros Linquëlossë
