Wandering

Diary

It is cold here. The locals let me sleep beside the fires they build outside their tents, but the wind still bites and chills my bones (I must get warmer clothes). It is beautiful here. Yes, it is cold and desolate but it is beautiful and majestic nontheless.

I met a Minstrel on my first day here. He aided me when I encountered a bit of trouble. I have seen him a few times since. He is a nice man. Quiet, but he has a powerful pressence.

Still, you can wander for miles here without meeting a single soul. So, it has just been me, my raven companion and the wisper of the wind for the last few days. I have to remember to bring extra kindling and wood with me every time I leave the camps. The first day here we wandered too far from the camps and my raven companion caught a terrible chill. She was almost frozen by the time I returned to the natives nearest camp.

There are plenty of odd-jobs here. I suppose, any help is welcome in such harsh lands. So I think I shall stay here for the time being. I have notified my landlord that I shall be away for some time and not to make meals for me. Lorau is a fine cook. I miss her fine hearty meals. I ran out of the rations she made for me a week ago so I have had to get by on the tough meals available here. I can't complain otherwise. My belly is full and I do not go hungry here. I dare say I shall get used to the cold soon enough.
