Twins of Light and Shadow
I ask myself,
whence came you by,
A creature, who changed my course, Elf
You are my twin, my sole ally,
I treasure you greatly, like Elbereth's star.
We are sisters, in soul and mind,
A bittersweet pair,
An undefined,
We take great care,
Of the other's life
You are the shadow,
so fierce, so dark
You darken the meadow,
And you leave a mark,
A sinister being, a foul creation,
I am the Light,
Purely untainted,
I raise neither grave, nor wight
With the Valar I am well acquainted,
I am all that is good, all that is right
Yet I have also shadow,
And you have also light,
Two identities, both too narrow,
We cannot exist, without each other's right,
A balance to both worlds.
We cannot exist without each other,
Keep that in mind,
our secrets are never open without bother,
not to Elves, not to any other Kind,
We are the twins of Shadow and Light.
