Chronicle Content
The women of Rohan shoulder many duties and concerns. Often they are supported by family and friends, by their village or community at large. But what of those from more outlying areas, those who have recently moved to a different place of dwelling, those who are widows, or youngsters that are orphans? What about the abandoned, the solitary mother and child? Life is grim for most of them.
Frith Halle is a small house with room for twelve adults and a few young children, set up by the widow, Northgyth, on observing some of what has happened in her own Homestead. The state of one Hildfrith, in particular, caused her to search for a new home, where each could contribute their gifts and work as a community.
Although the House is mainly for women alone, it does not turn away Men in need, recognising that, while there are more places for Men to gather, some are not necessarily suited to all individuals. There are four Men who are also healing, mostly from battle wounds, or slowly succumbing to the advance of age.
Northgyth watches over all with a stern but kindly eye, hoping that in due course each may pick up their life again, equipped with more skills to survive. She is encouraged and aided by Averel Thane of Bancross, now residing in Edoras.
But there is more to this group that meets the eye. Each have been selected for a reason they may need to discover.
