Estellain: Old Promises c1

To be part of the world, one cannot appear separate from it.

It is easy for us to put ourselves apart. Perhaps it is not only ease, but instinct. We've much pride, but, also shame. Yet we cannot hide, we must not hide. Even as the world is changing, we still have our duty, and I will not wear the burdens of the past upon me like a heavy coat to drag me down in dark waters. No, I shall wear it as armor, and be steadfast in my purpose.

No shadow shall stop me. Not even my own. So I am part of this world, and I shall move through it, touch it, and see light taken where the shadows hope it will not go. I will not be a ranger of the wilds, out of reach and out of mind, drifting by to only answer with reluctance when need calls. No. I am part of this world, and it will reckon with me.

Oh, glory rises, glory falls,
For as I do, so shall you,
For we as one will never stray
Even as darkness comes,
To wash our dreams away.

Oh, glory rises, glory falls,
For as I shant, nor shall you,
Together true we will not stray,
Even as darkness strives,
To steal our dreams away.

Oh, glory rises, glory falls,
For as they will, so shall I,
For we are One, and always True,
Ne'er to digress nor diminish you
And so our dreams will never fade.
